she never wanted to leave.
đş @ferrokinesism !!
rahne stared at the woman with green hair for what felt like hours before she finally worked up the courage to talk to her. they were still by the remains of the ship, and she was keeping a fair distance away from the fire â but if she was who rahne thought she was, even fire couldnât stop her from saying something. she approached with measured and even steps, fidgeting with the crucifix hanging from around her neck.
"are ye really lorna dane?â rahne asked, trying not to sound like a fanatic. their situation was bad, there was no doubt about it, and sheâd be the first to say weâre fucked. but legends were legends â and lorna dane was a legend. rahne heard enough about polaris to know that she was a hero, even if the world didnât see it, even if she stumbled. they were mutants. they were ostracized and hunted. all of them stumbled. but at least lorna actually tried to do something.
âah dunnae mean ta bother ye, itâs jist â yer brilliant. not ta sound like ahâm stalkinâ ye or anythinâ, i jist hear about ye. mutant news ân all thaâ. ahâm rahne.â
âĄď¸ @ofgirlsandwolves !!
even after a loss to thanos, thor would not bend to the feeling of powerlessness that washed over him at his lowest moments. perhaps it was blind faith, stupidity rather than bravery â but he had no intent of failing the universe again. even trapped on vortua, he could make himself useful. heâd scouted out a hospital, just a few miles east of the forest. if there was anything worth scavenging on this destroyed planet, it wouldâve been there â but as well as he may know asgardian medicine, the midgardian sort still left him questioning. he went back to wreckage of their ship, seeking out the only person he could think to bring with him.Â
âdoctor,â thor greeted, grinning despite the fact that last time he and stephen strange met, it had been... a pinch awkward. he respected the sorcerer supreme. he was trustworthy, and in it for the right reasons. a sense of duty that thor was familiar with. âi found a hospital, and itâs not on fire. surely there are supplies we can gather and bring back here, care for ourselves and survivors. you are more familiar with midgardian medical equipment than i. will you join me?â
new mutants moodboard â rahne sinclairÂ
âď¸Â DONNA TROYâ !!
IT WAS a nice place. That was everything Donna could form about the new planet for the last days she had been there. Things seemed a little tense, but besides that, everyone acted normally enough. Not all alien planets were friendly like that one and she felt welcomed, nothing was out of place that far, except for the⌠Body pieces on different places of the city? âHeyâ she touched someoneâs shoulder, not paying attention in who it was or if she knew them at all. âWhat happened here? Wherever here is.â
at least matt murdock had an excuse to be beaten to shit, without having to worry about revealing the identity of daredevil. it actually helped. made him look like he couldnât hold his own in a fight, even and most especially against androids. which wasnât to say he held his own very well anyway; they were as quiet as ninjas and significantly more unpredictable. they used weapons like none he was used to listening for and took him by surprise more than once. his wounds were mostly embarrassing. matt turned his head towards the woman and sighed, shaking his head. âsome kind of attack,â he said simply. âandroids. theyâve been here before but... theyâre sent by peaceful traders. usually. i donât think anybody really  knows what happened.â that disturbed him the most; in hellâs kitchen, he was at the heart of good versus bad, and in order to be daredevil, he had to know all of the bad. but here... here was still out of place. still learning. âitâs called meraviglia, by the way.â he smiled half heartedly. âwelcome to the planet.â
đĽÂ MARY BROMFIELD !!
Thanos.. that was the man they all say is responsible for hers, and many others deaths here. This man, did all this, he ruined this planet, these poor people. Mary, was looking through the rubble of this planet, seeing the disaster that had stricken. This was all so much to process, and Mary sank to her knees, head in her hands.Â
âH..how does something like this happen? Why would someone destroy a whole planet just like this?â
She paused, looking at the person beside her.
âWhat are we going to do? We are trapped here and this poor planet is all but destroyed.. how can we help?â
they all shouldâve known it was coming. if they were here, why wouldnât he be? what could they have possibly expected? it was only a matter of time before thanos made his move â in truth, theyâd been lucky that it wasnât on them. what he did to vortua, what he did even to the krunul... it was destruction like jean hadnât seen since the phoenix. destruction that she hoped never to see again.
a young woman caught her attention and jean turned her head, eyebrows creased in concern.
âheâs called the mad titan,â jean said, eyes traveling across the ruined ground. it was hard to tell what the krunul had done and what thanos had done. it didnât matter. vortua was still destroyed, and they were still trapped. and thanos was coming. âi wouldnât really call him a someone as much as a something.â she walked towards the young girl â she barely looked older than a teenager â and made her best effort at a comforting smile.
âwe can look for survivors,â jean suggested, âlook for food, water. things to keep us going for as long as weâre stuck here. weâll be alright. there are a lot of us here.â
âď¸Â WALLY WESTâ !!
The twins are tagging along - reluctantly so - as Wally makes his way through the city, trying to find answers. To find someone who can help him pilot a ship to Vortua. To find someone who can help him get all of his friends back. As much as staying behind had seemed logical, considering not only the twins are here and Wallyâs own state isnât.. really a hundred percent just yet, Wally canât help but regret it and the guilt is going to eat away at him until he can find a way to help get everyone back safe.
âExcuse me -â He says as calmly as he can - which, unfortunately, isnât all that calm, his worry and concern and a slight touch of panic shining through. âListen - I know everyoneâs busy, but have we heard anything? Do we know whatâs going on over there?â
matt was beside himself with guilt, anger, and fear. he shouldâve gone. he knew he shouldâve gone. he knew it when the queens made the announcement, and he knew it even as he agreed to stay. he knew it when the ship took off with clint inside. he knew it when they lost comms. he knew it as he assumed the worst. every moment of silence was like torture. every single moment that clint was gone and he was here, safe, cozy on meraviglia... had they not been apart for long enough?
he tilted his head as someone approached him, jaw clenched, and as the man spoke, he felt a heavy weight on his chest. âno,â he said, his voice strained with the weight of the word. âwe havenât heard anything. not since comms went down.â he wanted to fall apart. he wanted to cry. he wanted to curse. he wanted to ask god why any of this was happening, and then be dissatisfied with the answer. he wanted to do something but all he could do was nothing.
đşÂ RICTORâ !!
âÂĄAY, DIOS MIO!â Rictor says while turning his gaze away from the destroyed ship. He walks toward from the wreckage, foot kicking at the debris briefly. He stops after one swift action, taking a deep breath to collect himself. âWhy canât anything go right for once? It wasnât supposed to be like this.â He should be used to missions ending badly â but this one was too important. His eyes look over at someone nearby. âI donât know what yet, but we should do something.â
she hated fire. of all the things in the world, she hated fire the most. why did it have to be fires and explosions? a flood wouldâve been better. earthquakes. a bloody hurricane. anything but fire.
it wasnât rahne sinclairâs fault that she hated fire. that was her fatherâs fault â the fiery pit of hell that awaited her and all that. and the angry mob with flaming torches that chased her out of town.
after the explosion she walked as far away from the ship as possible, sat herself down on the least uncomfortable rock she could find, and waited. there were things they needed to do, resources to scavenge and survivors to search for â but they didnât even have a map of this place, and she could see an enormous fire in the distance that she very much wanted to avoid. maybe this rescue mission wasnât the best idea. thank christ for rictor.
rahne looked up as he spat angry spanish, a small smile threatening to curve at her lips. âah dunnae think they speak any oâ that,â she teased, picking up a small, charred rock and throwing it at him. âah dunnae care what we do, jist as long as its nae near that street on fire,â rahne said, throwing her chin forward into the direction of the mushroom cloud in the distance.
âĄď¸VALKYRIEâ !!
Val was no stranger to death, it haunted her. No matter how hard she tried, she could never escape it. It was her burden to bear. Looking out across the destroyed city, she saw the souls of the dead wandering around. Many seemed to not understand their fate. Knowing there was no way to transport all the souls, she quickly build a shrine out of nearby ruble. Kneeling down in front of it, she said a prayer for them, wishing them a safe passage on their journey to the afterlife. Standing up, she looked down the Main Street. Based on the flames, the fight canât have been all that long ago. âLast time Thanos was active, he didnât stop at just one planet. He destroyed as many as he could get his hands on. If we really are against him again, weâve got an uphill battle from here. That is, if we manage to make it off this planet.â
thor thought that, by now, he wouldâve been used to loss. peter may be alive and well here, but heâd died in thanosâ snap. for a year they were apart, and thor didnât remember any of it... but peter did. who else had been lost? how many others had perished because he was foolish enough to think heâd earned the right to watch the light leave thanosâ eyes? â still, when he saw valkyrie, even in the dire circumstances on vortua, he wondered how it was their first meeting here. he feared the worst â perhaps she was avoiding him, as disappointed in his failure as he was.Â
but thor pushed the thought aside, focusing instead on the fact that they were both here. alive. what was left of asgard. âiâve never been more relieved to see anyone in my life,â he said, almost breathless, and wrapped his arms around her. if he knew anything about val it was that she wasnât much of a hugger â but just then, he didnât really care. all that mattered was that they were together, again, and if anyone stood a chance against the mad titan, it was them. he pulled back to catch her eye, eyebrows creased in concern. âare you well?â
â¨Â GARTH !!
Garth stands there staring at the destruction, unable to come up with words. He doesnât know what to say, except turn his gaze down as he passes on his thoughts to the fallen. His gaze looks up upon hearing someone approach him. âIâm okay.â He says lifting a hand as he tries to pull himself together. They were stuck here now. âYou wouldnât happen to have any water with you would you?â
carol had flown a distance of vortua long before their ship exploded, and had arrived back only in time to hear thanosâ name. she clenched her jaw, for a moment seeing red... and she thought about jess and gerry and released a slow, shaking breath until she felt herself become calmer. she could fly people back to meraviglia, but the day and a half trip on that ship would probably be over a week for her, and even then, she could only carry so many. she approached the people who looked the most affected â the ones in a panic, the ones who were particularly quiet. the latter waved her off more often than not, and she gave them room. mostly she just wanted to tell them that it was okay to not be okay. the position they were in was... put honestly, fucked up.
but garthâs response took her by surprise, if only because he was the first to actually ask for anything. she smiled softly, but shook her head. âiâm afraid not,â she admitted, âbut when i surveyed the area earlier, i saw a lake. the path to get there isnât great, and thereâs a bridge that iâm not sure iâd like to walk on. i can fly you there if youâre not afraid of heights.â
đĽÂ VALKYRIEâ !!
That is, if we manage to make it off this planet.â
when she heard his name come from the krunulâs mouth, wandaâs chest tightened, and she felt sick and angry and heartbroken and... responsible. sheâd gone over that day a hundred times in the year sheâd been on meraviglia, thinking over and over again about all the things she couldâve done to change the result. to save everyone. but she wasnât a very good hero â which was something sheâd have to wrestle with when they got back to meraviglia. on vortua, wanda watched valkyrie perform a ritual she wasnât familiar with, head tilted slightly, curious eyes following each movement. it was like she saw something that the rest of them didnât. she blinked in surprise when the woman addressed her, and she cleared her throat.
âhalf the universe,â wanda nodded, and her stomach twisted. she clenched her jaw. part of her wanted to cry. the other part of her wanted to hunt him down across this vast and unfamiliar universe and destroy him â take him apart piece by piece. âyou donât sound optimistic about a rescue mission.â
đ RICTORâ !!
It had been quiet â which was unusual for Rictor to get used to. He wasnât expecting for someone to come up behind him at that moment. This easily startled him so as a result the ground shakes under his feet while a green glow surrounds one of his hands. It stops after a few seconds upon realizing. âSorry â didnât realize you were there.â He flashes a smile, and pushes his hair out of his face nervously.
harley quinn isnât much of a sneaker; usually when sheâs around, everyone in the vicinity knows it. she blamed the shoes she was wearing â instead of something flashy she was in fluffy pink rabbit slippers. she didnât bother getting flashy just to bring nathan out to pee. she just about fell over when the earth started shaking, and she looked at the apparent culprit with wide eyes. âwaitaminute, did you just shake the earth?â harley smiled coyly and licked her lips in excitement. she leaned onto one leg, popping out her hip and placing her hand on it to emphasize her figure. it wasnât interest as much as her go-to way of getting what she wanted... even if it didnât always work. âiâm guessinâ thatâs not something ya can teach to a poor girl lookinâ for some earth-shakinâ fun, huh?â
đ TEDDY ALTMANâ !!
Teddy was sitting on a bench as he groaned. âSo I like a good olâ robot fight as much as the next guy. Seriously, I do. I played Titanfall. Iâm not lying about that. But right now Iâm just kind of annoyed. And I need a nap.â He groaned again into his hands and he dragged them down his face. Then Teddy ran a hand through his hair before looking over at the person next to him. âDoes that make any sense at all?âÂ
scott was still on the ground, still in his ant-man suit. he was breathing hard underneath his helmet and lifted his head just high enough to hit it blindly in the side till it snapped open. he groaned and let his head fall back on the grass, looking sideways at his unexpected company. âi have literally never heard of titanfall in my life,â he admitted, shaking his head. âbut yeah. i get it. i literally always need a nap. orange slices. the works. hey, how do you know if you have a broken rib?âÂ
đ KALIXâ !!
Kalix heard when the door was pushed open, not leaving his seat for a few seconds as he finished taking notes of a new species of plant he had found some days ago. His favorite part of being a botanist was that Meraviglia had too much flora to study and he could keep himself busy all the time. âI wouldnât touch that one. Beautiful, but highly toxic.â Said when he walked towards the person, a possible client or maybe just someone who wanted to see the plant sanctuary. âCan I help you with something?â
mera was much smarter about land-things than she had been the first time she and arthur had come ashore; still, this planet was new enough. all of the things sheâd have thought to not eat or drink were apparently edible here. she was slowly learning that most edible plants glowed, the idea of which she loved. it reminded her of the more colorful parts of the sea, especially in xebel. this is what brought her to the plant sanctuary â the closest thing she could find to a land-equivalent of her home. she was reaching to touch the petal of a flower that didnât glow when she heard kalixâs voice.
âthank you,â mera said with a small, amused smile. âlast time someone gave me a flower i didnât recognize, i... kind of ate it.â she wasnât exactly embarrassed about it; a quirky memory, sure, but it was a happy one.Â
đ§ŹÂ REIKORâ !!
Reikor could tell the girl was one of the Earthlings that began settling on Mera, of course, if she happened to be a paying customer then he could keep his less than favorable opinion about their race to himself. He gave a small smile shaking his head â Its hardly an intrusion, I was about to take a break anyhowâ he replied cleaning his hands-free of the dirt he was sure clung to his hands after such hard work. âTo be honest, It was more of a hobby turned career, We can agree on that I always found machines lacked the personal touch aspect hence the choice of business. Youâd be surprised all the things I can create using my hands and the forge.â He replied moving from behind his counter to grab a box from the top shelf.
âLike this, I made this last week, itâs simple yet holds such promiseâ he explained as he opened the box to reveal it to be a puzzle inside. â It allows its owner a box filled with beauty and challengeâÂ
gwen could tell he wasnât a particularly pleasant person â most likely only because he had to be â but she was never one to judge. not either version of her. she tried to see the best in people the way peter did, the way her dad tried to. she tried to see the best in people because there was so much bad in the world, and she had to face it every day. once it killed her. âhobby turned career sounds like a pretty good gig,â she said, grinning. âi guess thatâs what we all want sooner or later, right?â it sounded simple enough â but the two versions of herself wanted... very different things. she still didnât know how to handle that.
gwen watched curiously as he lifted a box, presenting it to her with complete confidence in its crafting. she inspected it, eyebrows creased, eyes searching its contents ravenously. it was like nothing sheâd ever seen before. âdid you create this puzzle yourself?â gwen asked in awe, her eyes wide as she looked back up at him. âthis is magnificent.â she studied the gears, the fine and detailed carving into the dark metal.
đ JOHN CONSTANTINEâ !!
âBit of a devil, eh?â John smirked, though he was mentally reeling a little. Could this place have messed with his magic? Honestly, that would just be the worst. Sighing, he ordered a drink, and had just taken a mouthful when the other introduced himself asÂ
Lucifer Morningstar.
Half the drink went spewing across the bar.
âYouâre joking,â he started to say, but the way the manâs eyes darkened made him realise that this was most definitely not a joke.Â
âOh yes, of course,â he said. âOf course angels have wings. Silly of me. And am I supposed to ignore the way you sort of admitted to originally having them before you got rid of them?â He took another mouthful from his drink, making sure he actually swallowed this one down. If he was going to die, the least he could do was get drunk before it. âThis is good stuff, by the way. Not sure what it is, but itâs delicious.âÂ
He downed the rest of it before turning back to look at ⌠the Devil, Satan, Prince of Darkness, etc etc. âSo ⌠what brings the devil himself to Meraviglia?â
lucifer never usually lingered on his introduction, because most people, like lopez, just thought he was acting. or out of his mind. but this stranger took him rather seriously, if his spilled drink was any indication. lucifer jumped up from his stool to avoid anything landing on his suit â one of the things he could not give up from life on earth.
âiâm sorry, is it my imagination or are you actually taking me seriously?â he asked, eyebrow raised, staring at the blonde as he slowly took his seat again.
âfrom what i understand, some big purple man snapped his sausage-like fingers. but, and i canât believe iâm saying this, enough about me. who are you supposed to be, hm? youâre not a demon. you donât seem like the devout believer type, and you havenât broken down into tears. so what is it?â
đŻ @ferrokinesism !!
it was almost poetic, logan thought, that there would come a threat from aliens that were mad because they couldnât get adamantium, these androids would be sent to attack, and then he would destroy them using adamantium. but really, he wasnât a poetic type of person â so he settled for violence, ripping through the androids with enough anger and ferociousness to sufficiently pack an army. when it was done, and the attack was over, he sat on the hood of a parked ship, untangling wires from around the claws on his right hand.
he felt a pair of eyes on him, and sighed, wishing he could have the rest of the afternoon pity himself in silence. âplease donât ask,â logan growled, lips curled up into a snarl as his claws disappeared back into his knuckles. he looked over his shoulder to see whose presence he felt, and was surprised to be greeting a vary familiar face. not that theyâd met before â but what mutant didnât know about the children of magneto? the scarlet witch, quicksilver, and polaris, the mistress of magnetism? he stood up straight and turned to face her head on.
âhuh,â he smirked, cocking his head to one side. âdidnât expect to meet the daughter of magneto like this.â
