Wondering what those numbers in the circles are all about? Take a look at this! 👀

The numbers 1,2,3,4 (and occasional letter ‘T’) all refer to your fingers.

Whether you play right or left handed, the numbers will refer to the same fingers.

1 = Index

2 = Middle

3 = Ring

4 = Pinky

T = Thumb

If you play right-handed: right hand strums, left hand frets.

If you play left-handed: left hand strums, right hand frets.

When learning new chords, it’s always good to give it a go with the written finger positions. As you progress you may find that your hand is more comfortable in different placements. Also sometimes it depends on the chord progression which fingers go where in a given chord; depending on which chord follows next, it may make the transition smoother to switch the placement up. The numbers are a guide, not a steadfast rule 🤪
