the girls with guts. these girls have so much drive and ambition, plowing their way through a male-dominated field with intensity and success that can only be dreamed about. pencils tucked behind their ears, calculators stuffed in their pockets, notes scribbled haphazardly in countless notebooks, they take on the world. some of these girls love science, love to learn about the changes of the tide or the environment or how to mix different chemicals. some love math, love how everything always lines up so perfectly, love the exhilaration of finally figuring out a difficult equation. no matter what their passions are specifically, these girls are the next generation of geniuses.

Growing up with social anxiety

• fear of using public bathrooms

• hating coming in late to school and having to walk into the classroom late

• knowing the right answer to a question asked but not wanting to raise your hand to answer it

• always staying inside

• like the comfort of your home better than anywhere else

• dreading going out somewhere

• hating talking to people you didn’t know

• unable to say your order to someone

• getting a mini heart attack when someone taps your shoulder to ask you something

• having a small anxiety attack walking in to a new class and not knowing anyone or where to sit
