I like thinking of Raditz and Vegeta’s similarities, or rather Raditz’s similarities (imitations) of Vegeta. When I first watched DBZ, I thought, he looks so much more like Vegeta than Goku, yet they are not related. They spent a lot of time together, and I know it wasn’t intentional, but I like to think Raditz maybe tries to make up with Vegeta something that he lost and is very affected by: his loss of family/familiarity and culture.
Raditz is something like a sponge, soaking up the mannerisms and knowledge of others. After a while on earth, I think he’d become more like his family there.
You think Raditz would be the butch one, no. That’s Princess Vegeta. Raditz is like futch/femme.
Anyone want to send me ideas for Vegeditz, preferably femslash ones. Not been sure what to draw lately.
I love Vegeta too, but everyday I wish Raditz had a place in Goku’s life also.
I think it’s evident, to me at least, Raditz was changed by being squadded with Vegeta and Nappa. He’s really complicated and conditioned and highly insecure. He reminds me of animals that attack weaker animals because they don’t want to challenge stronger ones.
Yeah he’s awful for doing what he did for so long, but he’s still more redeemable than Vegeta.
I want to preface everything by saying “IMO, IMO,” I don’t really feel like it’s an opinion though, or even projection. He has a lot of unexplored character, I think he’s bound to feel some type of way about his family, his race, his actions, more than what most viewers would think. He’s a smart guy, of course he would.
I know bathtime is important to Vegeta. I think when he was younger he really resented Raditz for his upkeep and self/social grooming in general. Because it’s very unlike a saiyan. My perception of Raditz is someone who is very self-soothing as a coping mechanism. It was something that kept him sane.
I think Vegeta thinks about his past ridicule of it and Raditz a lot. Maybe he was jealous in a way, that Raditz was more pampered than the prince allowed himself to be. (Probably not.) He would be embarrassed if Raditz could see him now…
Old
These are old, but I spent a decent amount of time on them.
