Some of us here in Jersey “go down the shore” or have a “shore house”. I was lucky enough to have a shore house to visit for the majority of my life before I lived at the Jersey Shore. From fishing on Island Beach, to emptying my parents wallet on the boardwalk, so many memories were made each Summer season. I loved the charm of the dated homes Pre Superstorm Sandy and the feeling of what it looked like when you just arrived. An empty fridge waiting to be filled for the Summer, wood paneling , nautical themes ,and dated appliances sitting , waiting for you after a long Winter. After Superstorm Sandy a lot of the homes were gutted or completely rebuilt but I will always remember the charm and the memories that so many families created in their everyday homes or Shore houses and I wanted to create a little space honoring that.

Welcome to “My first Apartment”! This project was so fun to me because that’s exactly who it was about haha, ME! When you get your first apartment or house, it can be exciting and overwhelming. So many things in your new spot can be “dated” and falling apart but you make it your own. My personal experience was that friends and family were practically throwing a mixture of whatever they wanted to give away at me. From antiques, brand new furniture, to whatever is affordable at the time, somehow we make it all come together. There’s so many pieces in here that remind me of that experience and ironically two pieces in this room are actual antiques that were gifted to me ! Anywho, thank you for visiting “My First Apartment” & make yourself at home 🧡

While I was going through a creative block I listened to Lana’s “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” and it inspired me to make “The Laundry Room”. This little side project got me back into doing what I love during the change of seasons and all of the changes going on in my life. 🧺🫧
