@harlowgarcia
So you must be a hero.
hcstilc:
“ and now why would i answer that ? i’m blonde, not an fucking idiot. “ cas twiddled her knife in her hands, cold blue crystals burning holes in the other’s head. “ are you ? “
“Look, kid, I’m not a threat alright?” Harlow put her ax through her belt loop and raised her hands to prove it. “I’m alone, yeah. It’s easier than the alternative.”
justsvrvivesomehow:
weapon comes up to block the blow of the other person, but she stops before nova is hit anyway. nova, a fairly quiet girl, didn’t quite know what to do. “don’t hit me. not a threat,” she said quickly. she had a father to get back to, after all.
“Sorry.” came the call over her shoulder in return as she approached the next mutant with her ax swinging through the air with an audible swoosh. “You didn’t look it at first,” she realized that came out as an insult, when in reality she just meant that she was in such a hurry to clear the mutants that she wasn’t taking her time to investigate the figures that approached her that carefully. “I didn’t mean it like that. Haven’t seen a nonmutant in a while, is all.”
empathylcst:
“not fucking dead!” he exclaimed as the girl is clearly ready to kill him, a sigh escaping his lips as he raises his hands. “didn’t mean to sneak up on you or whatever. sorry,”
Harlow huffed as she swung at the next mutant. “I noticed that,” she would’ve killed him if she hadn’t, without even meaning to. She wasn’t the type to kill senselessly, so she was grateful that she had. “don’t need to apologize to me. Just be more careful, for your own sake. Not mine.”
hcstilc:
“ you’ve got two options. “ cas’ voice was steady, stern, such a stark contrast from her appearance. “ option one, you can turn around and forget you ever saw this camp, “ her face seemed emotionless, but her words held an underlying tone— mischief. “ and option two, you ignore the ever so kind warning and give me free reign to carve your organs out. “
Harlow heard her demand, but hardly moved a muscle and certainly didn’t respond to it. “You out here alone?” she wondered, arms crossed over her chest. She sort of admired the girl’s abrasiveness. Surviving alone was hard enough without constantly being underestimated every step of the way.
empathylcst:
her arms crossed over her chest as she stood on top of an old rv, a ways from her group salida, but close enough where she could still see it. “state your purpose,” she spoke as loudly as she could as someone approached, her hand over her eyes so she could get a better look. her hand was on her gun, just in case.
Harlow tended to get whatever she needed by looting, scavenging and stealing. But, sometimes she needed something she just couldn’t find. She had gone to Salida to trade, leaving them as her best bet now. “I need to strike a deal!” Harlow shouted, loud enough to be heard from afar, back pack full of viable offers but stomach empty. She hadn’t eaten, or found anything she could eat, in what felt like days. “No bullshit, something that benefits us both. I’m not here to play games.”
A twist of her wrist throws the head of her ax through the head of a mutant, and the leverage of her boot on its fallen chest sets it free to strike again. She pulls air in through her teeth as she peers at the havoc around her. The battle was hardly over. She swings again, using the force of her entire body to stop mid-swing when she realizes that this one isn’t dead. She shuffles backward, surprised by their presence and suspicious of their character. “What the fuck?” is the first thing to leave her lips, because it’s the first to come to her mind. But, before she gets an answer, she turns her back on them to return to the task at hand.
