I'm just starting the double plaid and it's vvvvv great! I love it! but what's up with the aura thing ? like she can see plp's aura or is it her imagination, a supernatural pocer or something ? ahah

it's called synesthesia.  it's a real medical condition wherein the stimulation of one sense stimulates another. the most common form of synesthesia involves the connection of letters and numbers to colors, like seeing the letter t as brown or relating purple to the number 3.  but there are other kinds, like where people taste words (basketball tastes like waffles, for example) or where they associate colors with sounds.

i've kind of invented kit's form of synesthesia, where she associates colors with specific people.  she's not so much seeing auras as her brain is just assigning colors to people, and it's kit who gives the colors significance and relates them to the person's personality.   

a mango shaped space by wendy mass is a really interesting novel about a girl who lives with synesthesia.  mango is her cat and she names him such because she associates the color mango with the wheezing noises that he makes.

Hello! Okay so I just started reading The Double Plaid, and I think it is brilliant. Your writing is beautiful (I've been spending the entirety of today just reading all of your fics) and I do believe it deserves more recognition so you've no idea how psyched I was when underground1dff made it their featured fic!!
