The vampire took another bite at his apple, a grin hiding behind the fruit when he saw Harry actually believed he had erased their conversation from his memory. He had learned Latin a long time ago, and had been around sorcerers a lot to get a hint of what that spell was about. “That’s right. And it was fun to get.” He wiped his hands and stood up. “I should probably make my way around a bit more. I’ll see you later?”

“I’m glad you had a good time,” Harry said with a smile, and he nodded, standing up as well. “It was nice spending some of the evening with you,” he told him. “Definitely see you around.”

“Oh good. I don’t like scary movies. Most Halloween movies are scary ones.” He turned slightly in his seat so that he could face his companion. “I danced a lot, I took pictures in the photobooth, I did that catapult thing and I shot a pumpkin like way, way far away, and I even did the maze. I only got a little bit lost. Have you done any of the things?” 

“Yeah, sometimes the funny Halloween movies are just what the doctor’s called for!” Harry agreed, nodding along the list of everything the Mandalorian had done. “That’s a lot!” he said. “I bobbed for some apples and tried out a lot of the different food, but I’ve mostly just been hanging out with people and enjoying all of the costumes. What was your favorite part?”

The vampire had his eyes wide while he listened to Harry. He frowned when he saw the wand coming out and then- nothing. He looked at him. “So how’s your apple?”

Harry looked at the apple in his hand and took another bite of it as he shoved his wand back away. Hopefully he wouldn’t need to do that again tonight. “It’s delicious,” he said. “I think it’s even better since I know where it came from.”

Harry shook his head and frowned, pulling his wand from the pocket of his robes. “I shouldn’t have said anything,” he said quietly. “I just thought since you’re a vampire, you might already know, but--” He sighed. “Dementors are these creatures that suck happiness away from wherever they go, and they can literally kiss your soul out of you. A fate worse than death. And I’m sorry, but that’s not something you can remember.” He lifted his wand and aimed it toward the vampire before doing a complicated flick with it. “Obliviate!”

The vampire gave Harry half of the apple and gave a bite to his own half before answering. “That it has. It’s obvious people went out of their way to show their best looks tonight. And it’s no wonder. Halloween’s a special night after all, right?”

Harry took a bite from his half of the apple and grinned. “It tastes better when you work for it, huh?” he asked with a grin. “Halloween’s definitely a lot of fun. It’s all about the candy when you’re little, but the costumes are so much fun, too.”

The Mandalorian had been on his feet the whole party running around to do everything. And now he was just dead beat tired. He made his way to the movie and found a seat in the back.
