This means everything to me <3 I’m so glad that my Omika has learned to love herself ;;;_;;;
I knew the breakup was coming, and yet I felt so bad for Mika. 😭
She didn't ask for this relationship. It was Kousaka who approached her, then she got to know him before agreeing to go out with him.
Mika put a lot of effort into making this relationship work: she spent time with him to get to know him, she gave him chocolates for Valentine's Day that she made herself...
All that effort, only for Kousaka to dump her over the phone, telling her he loves someone else.
It's so disrespectful. Not only does he do it over the phone, but he also waits for her to notice that something is wrong before revealing everything to her. As if that weren't enough, he doesn't even have the decency to answer Mika honestly when she asks him how long he's been in love with someone else.
When you think back on the whole context -the fact that he was the one who approached her with the intention to start a relationship- and add to that the lack of respect at the end of the relationship, you can't help but feel angry and sad for Mika.
But luckily for her, Mika is surrounded by wonderful people 💛
I love how they all panic when they hear the news, especially Mitsumi, Nao, and Mukai.
As soon as Mitsumi, Yuzu, and Mako found out, they didn't hesitate for a second to go see her. And it's heartwarming to see that Mika told them right away, even if it meant showing her vulnerability in front of her friends.
She's also comfortable enough to let her frustration out and cry in front of them, because she knows her friends won't judge her for it.
When Mitsumi saw her in that state, she couldn't help but cry too. And it was seeing Mitsumi cry for her that finally made Mika smile!
It’s very touching to see Mika realize that she’s finally starting to love herself!
She’s no longer that child who’s afraid of rejection and clings to a guy who showed interest in her but disrespected her.
She knows her worth. She has a group of friends she can be herself with. She showed a lot of courage by confessing her feelings to Sousuke, knowing full well she was going to be rejected. And she has grown close to a friend she used to see as a rival. All these events have taught her to love herself.
When he sees Mika shed a tear, Mukai panics and imagines she's crying because of her breakup with Kousaka.
Mukai, who is usually very calm, is always destabilized when he sees Mika in a moment of vulnerability. 🤭
He then decides to go to her to cheer her up and reveals that he, too, was dumped by his girlfriend because he wasn’t what she imagined him to be.
I really love this part; I love seeing them open up to each other.
Mika is absolutely right: he has every right to get upset. And it doesn't make you a bad person or unfair to allow yourself to feel angry towards someone.
In fact, we notice that Mukai gets angry easily with Mika but also with Sousuke, and to me that's proof that he gets along wonderfully with them and that he's comfortable enough to let his guard down around them 💛
After asking Mukai for a photo of his ex, Mika can't help but tease him by saying he likes cute girls, which he denies.
Mukai then tells her that he doesn't fall in love based solely on looks, since they're just friends - which implies that he does find her cute 🤭
Mika gets the hint, but his words make her think that Mukai doesn't like her personality, and I seriously doubt that!
I can't wait to see how their relationship develops; they go so well together, and I really love the way Takamatsu-sensei has been writing their story from the very beginning!
I have a friend who criticized Thomas Astruc (and the other screenwriters) on X/Twitter without tagging him.
At first, she only had a few likes and no comments. Then Thomas Astruc decided to repost it to respond to her, and that’s when she started to get spammed. But people will keep talking as if he weren't responsible for anything. Yes, you can't say he's telling his followers to attack others, but don't try to make me believe he isn't aware of what he's doing. When you have a lot of followers, it's obvious you have to think about the influence you can have.
I'm actually wondering how he even came across her post. Does he go searching for "Miraculous writers" in the Twitter search bar himself? In any case, if he'd just ignored the post, he would have spared himself the avalanche of messages he triggered.
Also, criticism isn't harassment. Everyone has the right to criticize. I'm pointing this out because I see a lot of people talking as if the mere act of criticizing him on your personal account constitutes harassment. All the criticism out there on X/Twitter isn't harassment. We're talking about harassment when people tag him or send him DMs to say mean things to him. I'm sure some people do that, but I'm also sure that they don't represent the majority.
I'm shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Ran's seiyuu, Wakana Yamazaki...
Rest in peace.
You were perfect as Ran <3
Please look at my ADORABLE Bubbin 🖤
i read if i could mail you a book (如果给你寄一本书) by yi zhan ye deng and it was great. baihe novel about two women in their thirties that meet after breaking up with their long term partners. it's a story about healing and learning how to trust and connect again with another person while experiencing the pain and grief that comes with parting ways with someone you used to love. what i liked the most about this novel is that it's slow paced and their healing process is gradual and realistic. the development of their relationship is also very compelling, i really enjoyed the way they start as total strangers and slowly become closer by breaking down each other's walls. even though the premise can make it seem angsty, it really isn't, it's moving in a serene, quiet way. if you like slice of life and slow burn romances then i'm sure you'll enjoy this one. the title of the book is taken from this poem, i recommend reading it if you want a snippet of the novel's mood and themes

Takamine and Kazakami being unwitting foils of each other is just soooo good. And the build up to it was alos crazy smazing considering that it's not really....as hyped up as it could be? They're rivals, they're friends, they're classmates, they butt heads, so on. One of them works so hard. The other seems to get everything easily. One folds under pressure but manages to make everything count. The other has had constant pressure over his life and thus has lost confidence in having life count at all. And I just love how subtle their relationship is, too. How even though Kazakami gives Takamine a migraine, she still does believe in him and doesn't let herself be weighed down by either jealousy or pity. It's camaraderie...and that's all it needs to be. Takamine in some ways valued the pressure Kazakami's existence gave her. Kazakami found a break from his pressures in his high school friendships, Takamine included. And I just think they're neat.
New Skip and Loafer GONG Mini Figures
Chapter 79 of Skip to Loafer focuses on Kazakami and tells us a lot about him!
Kazakami realised very early on that his parents exerted tight control over their children.
If they fail to meet their high expectations, his parents treat them with contempt.
Later, Kazakami repeats this behavior with a classmate. The classmate defends himself, saying that Kazakami's family is the weird one and that they would probably throw him out for having bad grades.
These words affect Kazakami so deeply that he decides to test his parents by handing in a blank sheet during one of his exams. And sure enough, it happens: his parents punish him by not giving him dinner that night.
Kazakami then conclude that everything is his fault and that his parents are, in fact, easy to satisfy: he simply needs to get excellent grades, something he manages to do quite easily.
Takamine, for her part, does not have the same natural ease. She works very hard, but unfortunately, her efforts are not always rewarded.
She is aware that she tends to fail during important moments and she envies those who perform even better under pressure.
She envies Kazakami who seems to succed at everything effortlessly. He looks so confident, as if he never had any problem.
But after talking to him and noticing the mark on his face, Takamine realizes his confidence is an illusion. It's an image he projects to convince himself, for otherwise, he would no longer be able to move forward.
Even though Takamine feels a lot of pressure and lacks confidence, she always succeeds in the end despite the obstacles!
Even though Kazakami does not show it, we can feel that he holds Takamine and Kanechika in very high esteem. He is afraid of becoming like his parents and won't be able to stay in the same circles as people he admires, like Takamine and Kanechika.
Honestly as a academic focused person, I really relate to both Takamine and Kazakami. I also adore Kanechika as he is example of a more free spirited student :)
Even though their arc are small, I'm very happy that sensei included their stories into the narrative! And very excited to see how mitsumi will continue this storyline, considering she saw how even someone as smart and proper as Takamine senpai can fail the final exams. If even the best person you know can fail, what does it say about you? Or smth like that.
I'm sure we'll see them again!!
I'm also really happy that Sensei is taking the time to highlight the supporting characters.
I totally agree with you! Seeing Takamine senpai fail despite all her efforts seems to have really upset Mitsumi.
After all, if even hard work isn't rewarded, Mitsumi might wonder what more she can do to guarantee her own success
Especially since she's already studying so hard and puts just as much pressure on herself as Takamine senpai, if not more...
