Forgotten Roots: Volume 1 Kickstarter is LIVE!
Forgotten Roots is a fantasy comic about five white-haired guys trying to reunite their country after the fall of their gods, but being absolutely horrible at their jobs because of their own shortcomings and interference from outside forces.
Forgotten Roots has been a free-to-read webcomic since 2014, but it’s now ready to see the world as a fully realized graphic novel, featuring the first three chapters of the story and additional worldbuilding tidbits. This Kickstarter campaign is meant to fund the production of Volume 1, which will be a 250+ page, full color graphic novel.
Forgotten Roots is ripe with representation for marginalized people - featuring Queer characters, characters of color, and disabled characters. I’ve published the first two chapters as individual books out of pocket for the past 2 years, but I have launched this Kickstarter campaign to help make Volume 1 happen. Volume 1 consists of the first three chapters of Forgotten Roots. Here are some examples of some of the pages in the comic.

Hi there, and good luck with the anthology! I applied to the anthology a while back but never got an email confirming my submission like usual. Would it be possible to double check that I typed in the correct email?

Our form was not set up to send automatic confirmations and we did not personally email people to confirm pitch receipts. If you submitted and saw the confirmation page and message after submitting, that was the confirmation that your pitch went through.

If we aren’t accepted into the anthology, will we be getting an email or something that says so?
Yes, people who aren’t accepted will get a rejection email after we’ve fully confirmed the accepted artists.

When you say submissions end on 4/15, does that mean that 11:59 pm on 4/14 is the last time you can submit, or do we also have all of 4/15 to submit? Thanks!
You will be able to submit for all of 4/15 and we take all timezones into consideration. As long as it’s 4/15 somewhere, you’re good.

Hey hey! I'm going to be applying for your anthology and I was wondering if you had a word count for your pitches?
We don’t have a word count limit, but use your best judgement for how long or short it should be! Thanks for your question.
On the submissions form for the Strange Waters anthology, there's a segment for the synopsis, concept art and character sketches, which I have, but I don't know how to attach those to the form? Should we put in a link to a page with that artwork on it?
You can link them as a page or a dropbox/Google Drive/other share link in the section asking for the synopsis. Thanks for your question.

Buzz, Spike, and Scorch from Spyro: Year of the Dragon! They’re just doing their job. Honest. This is the full version of a zine piece I did for the Dragon Shores Zine hosted by @hauntedcosmospress . Had loads of fun working on this! And with this piece, this means I have drawn every single boss from the first three Spyro games except for The Sorceress. I should really get on changing that…
