Beside You / 003
It had been three years; three years and every night was just like the first. Stella never would have thought that after this long, she would still be tagging along on every tour. Then again, she would have never thought she would end up with the lead guitarist. Stella could spend every night on the side of that stage, watching Dakota do the thing he loved the most and she could never get bored of it. What had started off as Stella’s summer job selling merchandise to pay for school, had turned into Stella’s greatest adventure. She got to hang out with an amazing band, made incredible new friends and fell in love, it was more than she could have ever expected. Dakota and Stella had been together for two years now, ever since that night in the park where he kissed her, it all changed for the better. By now, the both of them had been through so much together. Stella was by his side at every show, every award ceremony, and every day in the studio. There was hardly ever a time that the two were apart, knowing that neither of them would take it well at all. Stella had even left her old school and began her classes online so it would be easier, wanting to get closer to her degree but still be on the road. By now, they thought they had it all figured out.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the roar of the crowd and the halt in the music, indicating that the show was over. With an enthusiastic smile, Stella stood straight off of the wall she had been leaned up against, standing on her tiptoes to spot Dakota while the boys ran off of stage. The energy that came with the boys was contagious, the end of every show left the entire crew buzzing with excitement, something she couldn’t explain. A small squeal escaped her lips as her eyes met Dakota, meeting him halfway once he got off the stage. “Hey superstar,” she giggled, immediately throwing her arms around his neck as she reached him. He was drenched with sweat but she didn’t care, she just wanted to be close to him. only when she could feel his heartbeat in his chest against hers, thumping rapidly with the excitement from the show, did she feel as if she was close enough to him. “You killed it out there,” she complimented, peering up at her boyfriend with a smile so wide her eyes were nearly squeezed shut. There would never be a day where she wouldn’t feel incredibly proud of Dakota and everything he was accomplishing, when he was the physical reminder in front of her everyday.
