Welcome to the first ever HellFlare Exchange of 2026!

An exchange of fanwork between those interested in seeing more of Dion Lesage and Clive Rosfield in either a platonic or romantic relationship. Fanfiction and fanart are accepted.

As this is a gift exchange, a completed work is expected by the end of the due date. If you need to bow out, that’s fine - just make sure to let me know. For fanfiction, at least 1000+ words is recommended. And for fanart, one finished art piece is the aim. You will have two months to work on your assigned giftee’s request and can submit directly to the AO3 collection at any time before the deadline. For posting on tumblr or elsewhere, please wait until after the deadline.

If you would like to create more for either your giftee or someone else, feel free to submit extra stories or art pieces to the collection as a surprise. We’ll be using the AO3 collection to host the requests, so you can browse through those to spark ideas if you’re interested. Also, if anyone would be interested in pinch-hitting, please reach out through an ask on tumblr @hellflare-exchange. That would be appreciated!

As a small plug for the artist, they are currently running commissions throughout the month of June for anyone interested. They're closed at the moment, but you could reach out to the artist to find out when they will next be open!

How to Sign Up

First, you will need to go to the AO3 collection and use the sign-up button to take you to the request form.

There will be fields for Relationships, Fandom, and Prompts. You may include past relationships in the relationship field. If for any reason, you would like to submit more requests that aren't included in the first form, you can hit the button under your request to give you another one. Say, for instance, you want to see Dion/Clive with past Cid/Clive and Dion/Terence, but for another request you would like just Dion and Clive, maybe even platonically, with no other relationships mentioned - this would be the way to divide that up and make it clearer.

In the Prompts & DNWs box, you will need to include what you would like to see and what you would not like to see. Make sure to fill this out for both Requests and Offers to make matching easier.

After sign-ups close on July 4th, 12:00AM EST, I will send out emails to all participants with their assigned giftee. If you sign up, you are agreeing to fulfill at least one of your giftee's requests.

Rules for the Exchange

1. An AO3 account is necessary to participate in the event.

2. This exchange accepts works of any rating, including Mature and Explicit. Please keep that in mind when signing up.

3. Fanfiction must be 1000+ words - at minimum: grammar, spelling, and sentence structure should be legible. Fanart must be a finished piece - at minimum: clean line art on unlined paper. There is no maximum. For extras, any length or stage of completion is accepted. Stories and art must be written or drawn specifically for this event. No prior work.

4. Make sure to tag your work as nsfw on Tumblr if explicit content is explored and rate it Mature or Explicit at your discretion on AO3.

5. Tagging your work as HellFlareExchange2026 on Tumblr and AO3 would be helpful as well, to easily find your work. You can also use @hellflare-exchange to make sure you work is reblogged after the deadline.

6. No one will be forced to create for content they do not wish to explore. As such, it is advised that you be as thorough as possible when filling out your request form. For gifters, make sure to adhere to the do not wants (DNW) and follow the rules as closely as possible.

7. All giftees must state their DNWs for the those fulfilling their request. If you’re uncomfortable with something, even a little bit, make sure to include it in the DNW section.

8. This exchange will accept any content, so please be mindful of the tags for anything in the collection. And on that note, make sure to include tags for: non-consensual or dubious activity, substance abuse, any kind of abuse in general, as well as any darker themes that are explored where appropriate. If you opt to use the ‘creator chose not to warn’ option, make sure you have not included any of the giftee’s DNWs.

9. Once you have your giftee’s request, you are obligated to fulfill one of the prompt requests by the deadline - September 12th, 11:59 EST. If there is any issues regarding fulfillment, please reach out as soon as possible through Ask on Tumblr or Email ([email protected])

10. Please refrain from posting early on Tumblr. On September 13th, 12:01 AM EST, you are free to post. Submissions will be revealed on AO3 then as well.
