I need to take mushrooms soon
Seeing active older women is actually so important. I work at a pretty prestigious observatory and the smartest people here are older women with silver hair. Theyre so smart, cool, funny, beautiful, and happy and i want to be like them SO bad. Before this job i was so terrified of aging but all it took was seeing them enjoy their lives to realize im worrying about aging for nothing at all.
When I was hitchhiking the woman who picked me up was older who had been backpacking across the world and doesnt let her age stop her. She was in such great shape and again was probably the coolest person ive ever met.
Its no wonder in media they dont show this side of growing older as a women and there’s such a push to keep women in the small circle of their home as housewives. I just wish younger girls could also see all the different avenues you can take when you get older, and that life doesnt end when you inevitably get married, which so many people think.
So anyone reading this please go get that doctorate and climb that mountain and continue to show up for younger women PLEASE
My mom is 62 and doesn't seem old in any way to me. She's always been athletic, still runs regularly, lifts weights, takes on landscaping and carpentry projects, dresses classic cool, stays informed, and this month she flies to Tanzania for a few weeks. Meanwhile she has her JD and more career accomplishments with age. I don't see her slowing down soon. So honestly 30 is not unc. That's like the infancy of life.
I spent the tail end of yesterday's work day watching Goosebumps and going through 90s Oriental Trading Co. Halloween catalogs lololol and then I got drinks with friends at this cute wine bar and now I feel full of energy/excited for life again. I'm washing my sheets and I'm going to read in a bit, I want to make a big meal of rice, beans, chickpeas, frozen veggies, avocado, and add a lot of spices and hot sauce so I can live off of that the next few days. kind of want to decorate for fall even though that's crazy because it's August 1st but it makes me happy. I have my pumpkin spice candle going and there's this lovely book that I'm currently reading "Wheel of the Year: Living the Magical Life" that gives you ideas of pagan practices based on the month. I need to bake some bread soon
I need to start collecting vintage Halloween decor

went to a brewery the other day with a few friends and they were playing 2012 indie songs...take me back

I leave for a five day solo camping trip Thursday morning :D soso excited. I'll have no service and I just want to hike, read as many books as possible, drink whiskey, swim in the river. I turn 30 on Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it. I love becoming more comfortable with myself every passing year

I've become obsessed with the south recently and have been looking at apartments in New Orleans, watching so many videos on Appalachia. I think I need a change in my life. my roommate moved out and I was going to move into my friend's studio but I decided to stay in my apartment for now because I don't want to sign another year lease. I love Los Angeles and Southern California in general but I grew up in North County and now that I've graduated I'm hoping I can find a job that's across the country later this year... hmm
I need to visit Savannah Georgia
I love that the summer solstice also marks the beginning of cancer season :’)
