I forced her into training because she claimed to be my daughter but if she were mine she wouldnât have been so physically incapable of doing anything I asked. She almost lost her life trying to stand tall in battle like I had been teaching her, attempting to keep at what she was doing and watching her struggle to stay alive for just so much longer till the battle ended had me frightened. I had never been so scared of losing someone I barely knew, that I was still so wary of, until that day.

Fingers stroke through dark brown locks and he just keeps looking down at her, expression soft as he thinks over what words to use. The way to put them together before he finally exhales and lets his eyes fall shut.
