February 24 is European Pagan Memory Day, a day to commemorate the ancient roots of modern pagan religions.
This date was selected because it approximates the day when the sacred flame of the goddess Vesta in Rome was extinguished by decree of Theodosius I. Sacred flames continued to be smothered throughout Europe until 1388, when the sacred flame of the Baltic god Perkūnas was extinguished in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Today, we recall and celebrate the many expressions of traditional religions across ancient Europe. Let us also take pride in the efforts of modern revivalists and reconstructions to kindle those flames anew.
May all who offer light and prayers to the gods be blessed!

May the Keeper of the Flame, Goddess Hestia, keep all warm who will be hit by the incoming storm. May she protect us all from the bitter cold and keep us both safe and nurtured. May this storm pass quickly for those most affected. I hope everyone can stay warm. 🔥
creating tea rituals for lady hestia
start with pastries, if you can bake your favourite snack - gather your ingredients, put on your favourite playlist and make this moment special
prepare the place - burn incense, play calming music, clean up and decorate, make a place for your food and lady hestia's portion
tea tray - tea pot with your favourite beverage, your favourite cup and one cup for lady hestia, honey or sugar, lemon, whatever you like your beverage with
activities - drinking a warm beverage and eating baked goods can be a ritual in itself, but i like to add something - journaling, letter writing, creative writing, reading, crochet, knitting
the first and the last bite of your food and the first and the last sip of your drink should be reserved for lady hestia {if you didn't add a cup and a plate for her}
make a toast to lady hestia, say a prayer, or simply invite her into this prepared space and thank her
breath deeply, notice little things - the warmth of your tea, the crumble of the bagel you're eating, the wooden tray and how warm it is to the touch, look for lady hestia's presence
if you will use this time to journal - start with a written prayer, a piece of her hymn, a poem {even a few lines you compose for her will be more than enough}
don't think about what you're doing to much - whatever calls for you, you should at least try - maybe in the middle of writing a poem you decide you want to watch a movie, perhaps you will be overwhelmed by music and need complete silence
when you're reading - make notes & annotate, think as if you will lend this book to a friend, as if lady hestia herself will read it after you, which parts of the book would you like her to notice?
personally, i like to think that lady hestia is there with me, so i like to speak to her, most of the time in my mind or whispering - so if my activity is reading, i read out loud
remember that cleaning after the ritual is still a part of the ritual itself; it's still an activity sacred to lady hestia
I would like to thank Vesta, during the colder months with Her presence in our homes ♡

Hestia Aidios
Hestia Aidios, Eternal Lady of the hearth, Hear this prayer and grant it warmly. Eldest of the Kronides, The first and last, The heart of every home and every state; Hestia Aidios, you who is always there, Be here now. I pray before your everlasting comfort, Your undying flame of love. Eternal Queen, I pray for you to be ever present To those who need you most. May you always be found, Even when place is unfamiliar, Let us find solace in you, beloved Queen. May those who have more of a family Outside the walls of their abode, Find peace in knowing that even then They are safe, They are with family, They are with you. O lovely eternal Lady of the home, Hestia, Come before me and hear this prayer. If ever I have done you well, grant my words life. Hestia Aidios, may your name always be present in our life And always be in our hearts. Xaire.

O' Demeter Polyphorbos, golden-haired queen; it is this day I voice my thanks for your gifts. The grain, the corn, the meat, the fruits upon my family's plates—it is all your doing. It is you, generous lady, who nourishes. Great goddess, hear my praise!
