(some) highlights from megan & jenn's last show together
guys that was crazy 😭😭😭 the energy in the room was amazing, it was very clear that a big portion of the audience was there specifically for meg & jenn's last show together and everyone was just excited it was like a gay girl convention at the front lol, there was so much applause on their songs!! i was sitting 4th row left orchestra so i saw a lot of details from that specific point of view, if anyone else was there and saw other stuff please please add!!
entrance applause for jenn was massive, especially given that it's not really a huge pause for applause or anything!! you could see her fighting a smile as she handed the tickets to ernest 🥹 and then 2 seconds later the entrance applause for megan on for the gaze was SO long i have never heard it that long, it genuinely felt like it lasted a full minute and she played into it a lot
in act 2 when hel makes the "so yeah i have trouble sleeping" joke and mad responds "awww, i'm your best friend?" megan said it with so much enthusiasm and the biggest grin and stuck her tongue out and winked at jenn as she pranced away lol it was SO madeline
all of alive forever was just so magical, it was so beautiful and like, genuinely moving 🥹 the two of them were so locked in, i wish i could remember every small detail!! from my vantage point i was mostly watching jenn's facial expressions and they were just laser focused on each other and visibly appreciating that it was their last time doing it together
when jenn sang "you're narcissistic" toward the beginning of the song she gave megan a big fat wink when they made eye contact lmao it was very much jenn not hel
on "i won't go away, i'll paint your ass, i'll help you stay" they did their signature synchronized shimmy and they really dragged that part out, this was my 4th time seeing them as mad & hel and they always love this moment but i've never seen them grin this big at each other 🥹
when the song ended there was an immediate standing ovation (at least in the front orchestra where i was), the transition from alive forever to cemetery scene is so fast it wasn't a crazy long ovation but it was definitely a moment!! and they gave each other a real hug before they ran off stage, not just the usual air kiss on the cheek - it was very very sweet you could see the emotion in their faces as they did the final notes of the song and hugged
towards the end of the cemetery scene shortly before they stand up from the bench, hel was saying something (i can't remember exactly what) and megan just. stroked jenn's veil for a couple seconds, like rearranged it behind her hat. it was completely unnecessary, it's not like it was falling or blocking jenn's face or anything, it was just very sweet and i heard a couple other "aww"s in my section lol
once again of course, jenn took meg's arm as she stood up from the bench and did a dramatic foot pop as she did it lol <3
WHEN THEY WERE EXITING LITERALLY EVERYONE PAUSED FOR THE LAST "so what do you wanna do tomorrow mad?", like there was an audible lapse in applause as everyone leaned in to hear it, and THEY DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING. and we were all like DID WE MISS IT WTF?? but then everyone realized THEY'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING TOMORROW ever again this is their final one 😭 and as we were leaving the theater everyone around me was talking about it in shambles lmao. genuinely devastating stuff
during bows (i'm sure there will be a million videos and you will see for yourself) when the 2 of them came out they bowed together once, and then again together instead of the usual individual bows, and then looked at each other, and i saw jenn say "ok" and then they finished bows with the rest of the cast 🥺 it was an obviously emotional Moment jenn was visibly holding back tears, and then as the curtain came down you could see them hugging 🥺🥺🥺
if i remember more moments i'll add more, but overall it was just a very special performance 🥹 there was clear acknowledgement from everyone on stage and in the audience that this was their last show together and as always megan and jenn looked like they just had a blast and were soaking it in <3
