> Day 2 of Inking // Day 8 of the illustrator charade > Completely inked: - All cocktails complete. - 4 headshots complete. - Redraw hats on Churchill and Sinatra, ink and then complete. > Almost done. > I dislike drawing hats, currently frustrated at my lack of knowledge and ability.

Future

> Figure out how to draw a bowler hat and a fedora properly. > Re-draw the hats. > Ink the hats. > Destroy the hats. > Scan cocktails and headshots in. > Start assembly on 21.04.15.

> Day 1 of inking // Day 7 of the illustrator charade. > Completely inked: - 4/5 cocktails // All except 'Smoke Signals' - 1/6 headshots // Johnny Depp

> Finish inking cocktails and headshots by 21.04.15 > All articles to be finished by 21.04.15 so will have final material to work on, not drafts. > Confident we'll manage it. > Install custom fonts on Macs > Use Adobe Fireworks CS6 &  Adobe InDesign CS6.

> Day 6 of pretending to be an illustrator. > All pencil headshots completed, finally. > Cleaned up smudges and redid any faded lines before photocopying. > Photocopied all 5 cocktails and 6 headshots. > Ready to ink originals.

> Design Team Meeting > Finalise overarching design details. - Cover: Full photo, 5cm from top, title and tagline insert by eye. - Size: 17cm x 23cm, 0.5cm margin - all sides, 0.25cm inside margin - grid layout. - Each article: Title, Photograph, Article body, Photograph (Single or Grid), Text... - Variants: Grid only, double page photograph with title, illustration and text on same page. - Monochrome palette for text/headings. - Fonts: General consensus on heading, sub-heading and body text. > Flatplan of current contents decided. - Definite: Collector, photography, cocktails and famous drinkers. - W.I.P: Speyside, bartender. - Maybe: Moonshine, whisky & cigar bar, fireball. > Individual article design discussed and put into order in flatplan. - Photography > collector > famous drinkers > speyside (?) > small distillery > advert > cocktails > bartender (?) - Rest are maybe. Will need finals before deciding place. > Some titles discussed and decided. - 'The Collector', 'Extraterrestrial', 'Anno 1898' or 'Est. 1898'. > Style and format of adverts, contents page and editors letter discussed and decided.

> Group meeting to update progress on articles. > All present except Jessica (still in Sweden) and John (still in Speyside) but updated through Karlina. > Good progress on following peices: collector (Phil), small distillery (Joe), fireball whisky (Sorcha), photography (Karlina), speyside (John), famous whisky drinkers (Gabrielle), whisky cocktails (Gabrielle + Myself). > Photography for collector, small distillery and photography shown. Good shots, minor editing on photoshop needed. > Illustration for whisky cocktails shown. Met with approval by all and minor edits needed. Decided on the 4 used for article, 1 for spare. Overall had a good reception. Asked to illustrate other articles. > New articles: bartenders (Jessica + Gabrielle), whisky and cigar bar (Laura + Joe), moonshine (Robbie). > Spiked: Swedish whisky (Jessica) - intitally chosen bar closed, distillery tour fully booked and infographic (myself). Currently not needed. Can create quickly if needed as facts have been collected. > New task: Illustrate famous whisky drinkers peice.

> New deadline for articles & photographs set for 20.04.15// 21.04.15 at the very latest. > No deadline officially set for illustrations from me. Will be complete by 21.04.15 to allow for adequate time and focus on putting magazine together.
