Um is this even happening anymore? I saw the trailer over a year ago on YouTube but there hasn't been any news that I've seen recently?

Hey lovely, I hate to be the one to announce this - especially via an ask, I wasn’t aware an official announcement hadn’t been made. But unfortunately Hidden Thorns won’t be continuing. Frankly it’s cancellation was held in an unprofessional manner (I personally wasn’t even aware until about a week later, and I’m a cast member), but people lost motivation and all of a sudden lead crew members just dropped out. If this cancellation had been better approached and if we had better connections, perhaps those not interested would have passed this opportunity into better hands but of course that never happened. I’m really sorry that this was the case, and believe me the audience aren’t the only ones disappointed.

If the actress for Seymour said she was a jazz singer, what are all the other queens singing?

oh don’t apologise, this is a really interesting question!! i’m excited for you all to see how parr and the kids are written together - our writers are incredible - and parr’s care for them is definitely one of the things that touched me when i was first auditioning!

yes! a lot of the costumes i'm planning for parr are a mix of business monochrome + her signature blue - after all, us hidden thorns queens still each have our own iconic colour!

hi, parr! what's something about your character that you think will be especially exciting for longtime parr stans?

hi! i think something that should be exciting for longtime parr stans is the way that we’ve modernised her story (as well as those of the other queens) while keeping their humanity and what makes them unique. parr has a lot of elements that are inspired by previous incarnations of her in media, as well as her historically, and i think knowing those and then seeing the series, you’ll be able to spy those and really understand her as a character. hopefully, i can pull it off for you all!!

hello parr! here's a question - what's a similarity you see between yourself and catherine parr?

hi!! so this question forced me to think quite a bit... i mean, she and i are both writers (although i tend to stray towards the fictional while she is a journalist), but i think the primary similarity is the value she holds for the truth. i suppose this is helped by her being a journalist, but while keeping this as spoiler-free as possible, the situation she is forced into with Henry and what she chooses to do with her experience and knowledge really highlights how she will shine the light on injustice and share the truth if she sees it as the right thing to do. it’s something Parr has that i both admire and try to embody myself!

Parr - how did you get involved in this series?

so i first saw the discord server of the series going around in the six tags, announcing auditions for a webseries based off the queens. i didn't know anyone involved prior, i just went against my anxieties and joined anyway. i'm so glad i did, because after i joined, i read the scripts avaliable, loved them, and then auditioned amongst a bunch of other amazing people. i ended up getting cast as parr, which i'm so excited by, and now myself and the rest of the cast and crew get to bring this brilliant series to life for you all!

absolutely! so our version of Parr is a writer & journalist, and I see her very much as someone who stands strong for what her beliefs are, but I think that's come after going through what she has gone through. She's courageous, caring, smart, passionate and a really intriguing character to learn about and play!

I’m super excited for this series, and for those who are able to watch it without knowing what’s gonna happen next!

I think I’m most excited for this retelling of Katherine Howard’s story because the way it’s been adapted for a modern world is brilliant, and her storyline takes more influence from history which I love. Katherine in Hidden Thorns is different from other historical pieces relating to her, and this helps further the point that what happened to her can happen to anyone at anytime.

My hair is currently a darker pink/purple colour!

Okay, so at the start her clothes are a lighter pink because she’s younger and more childish. She’s still got that branding of being a child-star, which is reflected in the clothes she wears as they have patterns on them and make her seem younger than she actually is.

As it progresses, her clothes become more mature and a darker shade of pink. They also become more comfortable and relaxed to wear as Katherine becomes more comfortable in herself and what she wants rather than what’s expected- or at least, that’s the idea!
