So, if the nebulous placement for Frontiers is sometime before #68 (or even #67 to fit inbetween the reading order of the volume book), what about Rouge getting the white Chaos Emerald in 2022 Annual’s “Rough Patch”? Does this mean the placement of Aaron’s story is being changed to fit for Frontiers?

Hammerstrom did say in response to some sort of chronology that, “I was thinking sometime after #48, but I’m not sure if that’ll align with anything in the future, so take that with a grain of salt and be ready to update it if something contradicts that later lol”.

Yeah, Rouge having an Emerald from Rough Patch is the basically unavoidable continuity hitch I eluded to in my earlier answer. There is no good answer for this, as that story doesn't formally have a cemented place in the continuity of the comics. as Aaron said, it's kind of at the mercy of larger things at play. You could speculate that Rouge lost the white Emerald due to Ancient shenanigans yoinking it so Frontiers could happen. Then after Frontiers she went and tracked it down again, only for it to be stolen ANOTHER time by our mysterious coffin-carrying friend and/or Lunar. Tough time to be Rouge.
