Iowa City! So, Quad Cities-ish?
How obvious is it that I work retail right now? #outoffucks
It really, really boggles my mind when people freak out about mothers being sexual beings. Like, you know that's (probably, science is pretty fucking cool ya'all) how they became a mother, right?
This thing is so creepy.
This isn't creepy.
I'm a fucking nerd.
mostly I just think Jay Baruchel and Eric Andre hanging out in Hell would make for a pretty good movie.
Idea for a movie
Some guy (like maybe Jay Baruchel?), wins the lottery, only to be promptly hit by a car and killed. He arrives at the gates of Heaven (which just so happens to be set up like the outside of some nightclub), and while his place in the line finally comes up, St. Peter (played by Chevy Chase) explains that Jesus was really serious about it being difficult for rich people to enter the Kingdom of God. The guy pleds his case, and St. Peter looks down at his list dismissively, and said it's not his choice, it's "some clerical thing." The man promptly plumments down to Hell, but there's still hope! Apparently there's a contest to get a second chance into Heaven, so this dude, Sammy Davis, Jr and Bill Murray (who "was initially as suprised as you were, but after thinking about it, it made a lot of sense") get into all kinds of crazy hijinks, while Satan and Judas Iscariot attempt to foil their plans.
Going through and reviewing all the records I own; crating some off to take some pictures with way better natural lighting. So much good stuff!
Rainstorms in November? Don't mind me, I'm just going to pretend I'm nailing some awesome guitar solo in front of some chapel in the desert.
It's a little late but LOOK WHAT I GOT GUYS. All three reissues. All mine. No sharing.
Watch: The powerful first trailer for Spike Lee’s ‘Chi-raq’ is here.
I so can't wait for this to come out. Not necessarily just because I want to see the film (though I fucking love Spike Lee's work), but because maybe we can actually get a serious dialogue going; not necessarily just about the violence that's going on in our cities but the violence that's going on in all our cities.
Every time I see someone bitch about how pissed off they are that the authentic Mexican or Indian restuarant is "too expensive," I just want to cry. Like, do you know how to make a good curry? Are you making your tortillas by hand every day? Do you know how much effort goes into authentic cuisine? Do you know how fucked up it is to tell someone that their culture is worth less than what you're going to be spending at Applebee's?
Like, maybe it's just because I avoid that section of popular culture as much as I can, but I legitimately have no idea who Demi Lovato is. I know she was apparently on Barney and she makes (I assume) really generic pop music, which just makes the idea of her ripping off Sleigh Bells even more hilarious. Like...why would you even make that decision stylistically?
I don't use Twitter much, but watching Demi Lovato fans lash out at Sleigh Bells because she may have sampled two of their tracks without permission is really really entertaining.
These digs tho
Halloween really is a great holiday. I mean, not only do you get to find out which of your friends are huge nerds and spent 100s of hours to perfectly replicate a character who appeared as a one-off joke 15 years ago, you also get to find out which of your friends are really, really racist.
