When relaxing...
... becomes getting sick on your only week off...
I’m over it…
But sometimes I still think about it…
Because sometimes I daydream...
... then suddenly wonder what KHR characters would be like in a World Trigger universe.
When You Realize...
... that third-day curry is really good, but really dangerous cause you found a bone in your potato.
Sometimes...
...I have dreams that are like scenes from movies, but then I wake up and wonder if it is from an actual movie.
Convo between my 7year-old students today
Josie: I have a new crusshhhhh
Matt: Me too! On a boy!
Pearl: You're a boy with a crush on a boy?
Matt: Yeah he's really cute.
Pearl: Oh.
(pause for a bit)
Matt: Boys can like boys. I just can't marry him because boys can't marry boys.
Me: Yeah they can. You can marry whoever you want.
Matt: Really?
Josie: YEAH my tia has a wife so now I have a titi and a auntie.
Matt: Okay. Then maybe I'll marry him.
Dave: (from across the room) No you can't you're seven.
(Age was apparently the only foreseeable problem anyone of my elementary schoolers could see with gay marriage.)
From one of my favourite books of all time
A reminder to all that children are not stupid; they may be unconsciously naïve due to inexperience, but they are not stupid.
Dear Parent:
As your (now-young-adult) hatchling, I will always listen to what you have to say. But as a being who lives in and experiences this time period, I can't blindly follow your words.
This is not defiance, or rebellion -- I hear the wisdom in your words; however, time is ever-changing so my thoughts and actions can never fully match your ideal no matter how much you try to pound them in.
So, Mom, Dad:
"... you've seen a lot of things and I think you're already decisive about it./But, as for me.../I still don't understand anything.../That's why I'm going to see everything with my own eyes and then decide what to do!"
- Kaneki Ken, Tokyo Ghoul
From your beloved hatchling
Turtle vs. Tortoise
As a turtle, I'm a slow creature. Sadly, I don't have the steady factor like the tortoise in "The Tortoise and the Hare"; though on most days I wish I do.
Introduction
Here lies the first post of the oppressive, bastard turtle. Though my disposition is neither oppressive, nor am I a bastard, I often find myself introducing my being as such.
