It's The Departing Which Is The Hardest! ✈✈🔙🔜 #EthiopianAirlines #TheNewSpiritOfAfrica #Tails #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Bole International Airport)
The Smile!! Just like Accra, you will find these young street hawkers plying their living. Some persuade you to buy chewing gum, other polish your shoes, and some like this guy sell box of tissues. It's by looking at the remarkable tenacity of this young man that brings life into perfect perspective. This is by far my favorite picture of #AddisAbaba #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)
The newly completed Golden Tulip in the heart of #Bole. I feel in love with their sports bar! #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Bole Addis Ababa)
The Coffee Outfit. Fair to say Ethiopian take their coffee very very serious. #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)
The View. Addis Ababa is in valley, whichever direction you look, you will always see green belt in the horizon. This is NOT new Africa....This is EXISTING Africa. It's always been here!!! #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)
Prickly Beautiful The story is I went to buy real Ghana Kenkey made with Ethiopian maise.i was intrigued to see if it will taste the same as the ones in Accra. I saw this cactus, thinking that the kenkey will taste like how it feel. 😂😂😂 Surprised to know that it taste almost similar to Accra kenkey. New discovery in a new surrounding. #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)

Traditional Ethiopian Coffee A coffee ceremony is a ritualised form of making and drinking coffee. The coffee ceremony is one of the most recognizable parts of Ethiopian culture and Eritrean culture. Coffee is offered when visiting friends, during festivities, or as a daily staple of life. #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)

The Sheriton Hotel. Addis Ababa has so many hotels built and under construction. The tax relief curently in play is making it easier to visitor to Addis Ababa. Addis Ababa holds a Hugh amount of international development which includes The African Union, United Nations, European Commission, etc. The Sheraton Addis Hotel is located in the centre of Addis Ababa near the National Museum, United Nations Conference Centre, the UNECA headquarters, the Merkato and Bole International Airport (7km). The hotel is a sanctuary of Ethiopian grandeur, where a landscape of vibrant greens and colorful wildflowers meets the African sky. Experience an exceptional level of personal service in one of the 294 guest rooms and suites at the Sheraton Addis Hotel. #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Sheraton Addis)
The New Light Railway Trains which is completed and transport passengers across Addis Ababa. #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)
The New Light Railway Trains Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (CNN)In Addis Ababa, a city of over 4 million people, the more traditional way of getting around has been in mini vans - a cross between a bus and a taxi, that picks people up and drops them wherever they want to go. But now, a newly opened urban metro service is set to transform the way people in Ethiopia's capital get to work. The $475 million Light Rail Project is a joint venture between Ethiopia and China and the first of its kind for the city and sub-Saharan Africa. "There has been a lot of positive economic development in the last 20 years," Dr Getachew Betru, CEO of Ethiopian Railways Corporation, told CNN. At the moment that means taking 60,000 people who live in the suburbs and bringing them towards the center to work: "You would not imagine to have that in a sub-Saharan city". #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Addis Abba)

A Visit To The Danakil Depression in Ethiopia. BY @Edumadzie In this article, I will, perhaps, make you think differently about Ethiopia and its natural tresures. The Danakil Depression is by my experience, one of the most inhospitable environments you can actually visit. With scorching heat in excess of 42 degrees Centigrade, and the only access is the exception of the newly constructed Ethiopia-Djibouti main road. Hotel or any other modern day conveniences are severely lacking. In contrast, it is exactly these qualities, or lack off, which make the Danakil Depression, in my view, one of the most fascinating places I’ve visit in Ethiopia and possible on the planet. Located in the north of the Afar Triangle, the Danakil Depression is very low in altitude (about 100 meters below sea level). Geological tectonic plates that are slowly pushing the earth below apart form the Afar Triangle. Danakil Depression is extremely hot and dry, with rainfalls being very rare, and also known for being the hottest place on earth in terms of year round average temperatures. It is these fascinations, which despite an exhaustingly uncomfortable day long drive through the desert, make this worth the effort. Upon reaching the Danakil, you are immensely surrounded by the vastness of this wasteland. Aside for the odd tribal village and isolated tree, you get the sense that little grow or survive here. The exceptions of this are the few tribal people I encountered. They do extremely well to survive in this place. The primary means of interaction between the Afar region and the rest of Ethiopia (and the world) is the endless salt caravans, consisting mainly of camels and donkeys, loaded with heavy bricks of salt - the main natural resource in this area. There are four notably areas of spellbinding attractions in the Danakil Depression which I will focus on, the Sulphur Spring - commonly knows as "Mar on Earth"; Salt Mountain; Salt Mine and of course, the mighty Erta Ale - "Smoking Mountain" volcano. #EdumadzieExploresEthiopia (at Ethiopia)
