That's it. I quit blogging. It's bad enough living through this stuff once, let alone rehashing it. Besides, you guys would never believe me if I told you everything that happened. Just gonna keep my nose clean, stay in school, and stab the occasional vampire. That's it.
Right, ok, so garage is done glowing, no worries, it was just a chick from Oz. Everything's cool now, hanging out in the bunker with said chick, a ghost, and a ferret while D and S sort out their shit.
Now that that's all taken care of... remember that trip I took to Winchester, Indiana? Looks like they're still doing fine...
I seriously keep thinking this is all going to go severely pear-shaped any minute now but so far the most evil thing that's come of the witch in that town is the sheer amount of calories one is likely to consume while there.

Started this post like three times, don't particularly want to blog about this though. Taking off, gonna go spend some time with a friend.
Ghouls
J and A left me a note in the kitchen. Gone after a ghoul. Back in a few days. Hm. Well if I'm not actually going to be hunting, I can at least educate you about this thing. They're carrion feeders. The first sign you've got a ghoul around is disturbed graves. Generally they only feed on the dead, but S told me once that he ran into one once that was feeding on living people (and then I got to read about it in really horrible detail in Jump the Shark, so, you know, thanks for that Carver Edlund). If you need to take out a ghoul, go for the head. Decapitation's a classic, but the good old double-tap will work as well. ... that's pretty much it. Ghouls tend to be simple beasties. I wonder why J and A didn't invite me along...
Ok, apparently it wasn't so nice. APPARENTLY J had plans for that hunt. APPARENTLY she was disappointed.
Jo and I went on a hunt just the two of us last weekend. It was a pretty simple one (standard haunting), and A had a class, so we took care of it on our own. It was... nice.

OK SO, it turns out you can also kill a mora by tearing its head off while it's feeding! That was a thing I did not know! I need to calm down. Demons just crashed our mora-killing party. I'm not ok. I need to call S. Gonna take a break from blogging for a while.
Mora
What we've got on our hands here is a sort of sleep vampire, really closely related to a shtriga, except they feed on sleeping adults only. We visited the new psychic at the Faire. Psychic, he is not. It's also not really possible to identify a mora except when they're feeding - other than that, they look perfectly normal. So we're not POSITIVE that that's what this guy is. However, we went ahead and impressed upon him just exactly how helpless we young ladies are, and where exactly we're staying (A waited outside). If this guy is some sort of creature of the night, there's no way he'll be able to resist. Just like the shtriga, a mora can only be killed when it's feeding. It's a little tougher than just shooting the thing, though. You have to actually strangle it while it's feeding. Which means one of us gets to be the victim while the other two sneak up behind it. Oh boy.

Man these people take their faire-going seriously. We're staying at a motel (Ye Olde Motel, of course. Guess the decor. Go on. Guess) about ten minutes away in a town called, I shit you not, Pleasant Prairie. You're practically asking for weird shit to attack you with a name like that... Anyway, everything closer was completely booked for the Faire, but that turned out pretty well because it meant we could hang out around the Faire-booked hotels' common areas and pick up gossip. And no one likes to gossip like Faire folk. Found out that nobody knows much of anything about the deaths - they're too spread out, too unconnected for anyone to pay much mind. But we did learn that there's a new psychic at the Faire this year. Apparently this is a big deal because he ousted one of the recurring palmists who normally rents space at the Faire. We'll be paying him a visit tomorrow.
Ye Olde 'Orrible Murder
Looks like there might be a job up in Bristol, Wisconsin. At a Renaissance Faire. Not... entirely enthused about this one, but a couple people from surrounding areas have died apparently of exhaustion and the only thing they have in common is that they all visited the faire. So, off we go.
Holy crap, these books have a huge cult following. They're even talking about making a TV show. They're... hard to read. Especially after HP. But I shall persevere! I'm learning so many interesting things about Sam and Dean...

Figured it out. Witchcraft.
But not the scary kind. Normally, hunters run into witches and they're into vengeance and really gross spells that involve body parts and fluids and just... yuck. They basically are contracted out to a demon, who provides the power. We were nosing around yesterday and happened to spot a few interesting plants in the yard of this woman - pillar of the community type, has lived here for years, completely alone except for a cat. All the obvious signs. Except, she's not a witch. Not a yuck-type witch, anyway. She gave us the whole story: apparently, she tried going darkside, summoned a demon to help her and the whole deal. It worked, and the demon turned up, and gave her a grimoire and everything but when she sat down to try a few spells (she wanted her zucchini to win a state fair or something), nothing worked. Turned out the grimoire was full of band lyrics...? (No, seriously, she showed it to us.) So she summoned the demon right on back, and he pointed out that there's better ways of going about the kinds of things she wanted to do. He pointed her down the path of good magic, the kind that doesn't need demon power behind it, and now she's using what she's learned to help the whole community. Everyone's zucchini is doing really well and the whole 'Pleasantville' vibe comes from her strengthening peoples' connections with each other with little nudges here and there. Not anything we need to mess with. Plus if she's really got a demon pointing her down this path it isn't something we're equipped to handle right now. Then again, if it's a demon, then everything can't be as good as it seems... this is probably a place to keep an eye on later.
