(she is the most pleasant to draw out of all the kyoshi novel characters to me)

i always think about this part of the book, when kyoshi first ran away and rangi said they could go to hei-ran and kyoshi was skeptical if hei-ran would believe them over jianzhu and rangi wasn’t confident at all in her own mother

it made me feel that there was probably a big argument between a younger rangi and hei-ran when rangi was in the academy…

something along the lines of rangi breaking rules to help someone but getting in trouble, and getting doubly punished because she is the head mistress’ daughter and there is to be no doubt on whether the headmistress is impartial…

and all it really takes is just for one major incident where your own parent doesn’t side you and a shadow will forever be casted on your trust in them

An older Kyoshi and Rangi with Koko

Saw a few Koko posts recently and got inspired to think about my own take on Koko and Rangshi

In this one Rangshi adopt Koko, when the both of them are in their forties or so

having the idea of rangshi adopt and raise koko is all fun and nice until you think about the fact that rangi is going to be the first to go in the family even if she did live till a ripe old age
