I’ve been lucky enough to shoot incredible weddings and events all around the world! When I’m visiting a new country or city I love to spend a day or two shooting street scenes that tell the story of where I am. This was my 2nd day in Rome and I found this convent up in the hills. I sat for almost an hour waiting for someone to come or go to try and capture something interesting! It started to rain and I found myself hiding under a tree trying to shield my camera from getting wet. Thankfully several nuns exited together and made their way up the stairs. The woman pictured was running behind which made for a nice shot as she slowly made her way up. The other day I did a test shoot with my own family to test a bunch of different film stocks. I was testing because this Spring I am launching a new division of GRP which will only focus on family sessions. When I received my film back so many of my images were underexposed, which is something I never do generally. I am very careful when I shoot and live by the motto measure twice shoot once. So after investigating a bit I found out that my light meter had lived its last day. It was reading the same exposure for every scenario, which seemed normal at the time but inaccurate. Luckily the good people at @thefindlab and @fabshootsfilm saved my little family session. Always check your equipment, surround yourself with good people and measure twice/shoot once ; ) #grpfamilies (at Rancho Santa Margarita, California)
