I Lurk Therefore I Am

And sometimes I paint during the process.

I’m not done.

I may be done with digital art in a sense, but I found a lot of enjoyment with painting. Specifically with Acrylic paints, although I would maayyybeee one day like to extend beyond that? I’m comfortable where I’m at it seems.

I like the way that I can paint and I don’t have to think of much else other than what I’m painting. I’ve had painting take me ages, and all the while I was enjoying myself. So I will continue to do so while keeping this blog going for my self, future self, and gods know whomever might see this stuff.

MILE STONED.

I’ve reached a point now that I can draw HEADS. Sweet glorious heads WITH HAIR. No more bald guys! Although I kind of want to leave Igor bald, but with a beard.

With that said, I believe its time I turn my focus towards heads/hair/faces as a whole and work on getting them to a point where I like before going to 3/4th’s and side profile. This means I will be posting heads in 3 phases. Sketch, Line, Color. This way I can look back and go ‘Mkay so that’s how I made sense of that. Cool’.

My only issues now with going forward with this is that I have NO idea how to do shading or highlights. I know basic-basic, and that’s it, but you know what?

Practice makes acceptable.

 The top is just what it is.

WELL. Its not terrible, but it aint great. Its something though. Its HAIR. I am wrapping my head around HAIR. Over all. I think its fun, but at the same time.. JEEESUS wept do I need work.

IGOR. YOU’VE CHANGED AGAIN! Your nose looks a bit better and your hair has improved! Also your eyes... Your eyes got better. For a hot minute there, I thought I was just drawing Screech from Saved By The Bell.  Now I feel as though I have gone the redneck route.

I still have work to do on the nose, and eyes, however I am now confident enough to just work on hair a whole bunch. I don’t want messy hair to be my one golden drawing skill. Still it beats previous versions so that’s good. 

Also yes. I know its slightly off center, but I still like it.

To thing I started out with stupid simple not-quite-circles.

Working on cutting down on the width of these suckers, and I have to say... I am moderately proud of the direction they’re headed in.

I’ve had the idea of putting down my color pallet into my signature. Gotta get that pizzazz going.

Shockingly, I kept the theme of keeping things remotely short in width, but I am having issues with the eyes. Mainly the iris size to pupil. Thats okay though, it adds personality... Right?

Working on eyes, nose, and eyebrows. So far the noses are getting better, but they’ll always be weird and meaningless to me.

Now that’s a enough progress to warm my cold cold heart. I need to work on everything all around now, especially noses but now that I can FINALLY do a head shape that’s decent.. I just..

So. Consistency is now really becoming a thing to the point where I can skip back on down to heads and move on with my life a little more.

Those yellow eyes though..

Slowly but surely, these eyes area all gaining a level of consistency. My favorite is the dark orange(or brown to some) eyes.

Overall, I am pleased with where this is headed and I hope to get a better level of consistency.

The Hydra of heads. Cutting this one off will reveal 5 more in its place. 

There are 5 others, but I had traced their heads -because I can’t seem to get my right side to go well with the left. This head is not traced, therefore its free to roam the internet in its un-natural habitat.  

Mind you. The head is the ONLY thing that has been traced. The rest is a beautiful disaster by yours truly ;D 

Its nice to know at least that I am slowly but surely correcting my right issue.
