new to kemet
hello, I've been thinking and trying to work with the gods. so far I've been working with Bastet and Anubis. I have a very small alter (currently closeted pagan? i guess.) and don't have much to give to them, i try and offer any food I can.
my current alter (yes, its in a drawer) there's some perfume, candles, water and cordial (I cant get access to alcohol, second best thing). I've also been trying to pray and meditate, I still don't know how exactly how I should pray?
thank you all for reading, any help is amazing.
I think you are doing wonderfully. In my experience the netjeru are very understanding of limited resources and their followers' situations, and substitutions are still welcomed if you can't get the traditional offering (even Sekhmet accepted my sparkling grape juice, kava kava tea, and peppermint coffee when I couldn't give her alcohol.). Milk is also a popular beverage I've seen given to them, I've also found sweet things like sugar cookies to be of a special liking to Bast, as upg. There are pdfs of books based around kemetism or egyptology in general available online, some sites host books such as academia.edu, anna's archive, forgotten books, global grey ebooks, hathitrust, internet archive, jstor, library genesis, open library, pdfdrive, project gutenberg, sci-hub, and z-library, but they're not strictly necessary and there is not really a uniform prayer structure. You just speak (or think the words at them, silent prayer is good too). It can be as informal or formal as you prefer in each case. Kemetic Orthodoxy is a thing if it is your cup of tea, but you absolutely do not have to be part of it to be a follower of or work with the gods.
Side note. Those card drawings are beautiful, and I love the handwriting!
thank you!
i did mostly trace the cards, my drawing is not that great. but thank you! ill see if i can get some milk or check those sites out!
