What's the worst a character hyperfixation has ever gotten for you?

honestly. probably ardata

if you werent here during the hiveswap days you dont know how intense i was in my love for her. i thought she was an extremely sympathetic character who wasnt given the benefit of the doubt by people who were willing to excuse way worse with other characters (specifically with male characters AHEM marvus) and only gave her a surface level reading based on her aesthetics and themeing.

no one would acknowledge anything about her reasonings for doing what she did (either what she explained herself or what was given in other routes, eg how a troll without a lusus (like their parents) is culled), and i swear to god. i am the only person ive ever seen whos acknowledged how she is near suicidally depressed and canonically self harms, even though she DOES IT. ON SCREEN. RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! (she stabs herself (well. she mind controls you into stabbing her with a fork. but the narrative itself says that she was the one who did it) with a fork so ig people dont think it counts) and all but says in plain english that its an extremely common event for her! not that struggling with sh excuses a characters bad actions but. its hard to explain if you havent seen her route.

just know. she is my #1 homestuck character of all time and it kills me that after her route she was boiled down to "bloodthirsty rich girl" (shes upper middle class at best 🙄) and her wanting to kill joey even though... shed get nothing from that. her lusus wasnt with her. she was butchered both by the later writers (the latter half of friendsim and act2 were made by people. that i do not like. lets put it that way!) AND the fandom. and i will never forgive them
