Blog Update!

The blog has been renovated and is now officially a multimuse for all of my muses. This therefore remains my main blog!

The blog features original, historical, videogame and movie characters. More muses might be added later on.

Themes are quite mature therefore I will keep this blog 18+ and if you can think of a trigger you have been warned as the list is too long to actually write out. I do however avoid posting anything too triggering without tagging them.

Both arms draping the edges of the bath Thomas took a deep breath and allowed himself to relax, embrace the luxury he had access to even if it was opulent. Best he could do was be thankful for where he was whilst doing his best to provide others what they needed.

Hearing soft footsteps Thomas opened his eyes, expecting his wife to come and talk to him or the like but was instead greeted by seeing her in her shift through which he could almost see all of her soft pale form. He couldn’t say anything as he was confused, watching her as she wordlessly got into the warm bath with him with the water spilling over. Although he wouldn’t admit it there was a hint of a smirk on his lips and a small huff as he exhaled. Leaning back against the tub Thomas’ hands slid off the edges and wrapped around her pulling her closer and kissing head softly. Silly woman.

It did remind him of one of their first times together, intimate. There was something about seeing her skin wet and glistening, like a precious pearl.

Feeling Thomas’ arms around her made her feel safe instantly. She smiled, her fingers running along one of his arms. “I fear you have made quite a mess earlier,” she said, clearly teasing him. “I saw it best to bathe as well.” With everything that had happened recently, they barely had any time together. Besides her political duties, which were considerably less since she had broken her betrothal to the king, she was busy being a mother to their son.

She could have easily had others raise little Thomas, but she remembered what that was like. And she refused to have any of their children feel lonely and ignored by their own parents.

“I also visited the healer earlier this week. I was told, that if we should ever wish to have another child, there’s no reason for us not to have one.” A pause, and she slid her fingers lower down his arm. “Would you want one, mon amour?”

There was an urge to roll his eyes, his wife knew how to tease him and he found it endearing it. And she was creative, finding ways to spend time together when she willed it. She could outwit any advisor or king. She should have been a queen in her own right, not through marriage.

When she told about visiting a healer he was most relieved to know she was in good health, the news of being able to have children good as well. Of course he wanted children with her, all the children God would bless them with. However it wasn’t just about having his own children, it was having her children. “Anything of yours is a gift to this world.” Kissing her head his hands caressed her softly, “And a blessing to me. I will give you all the children God wills us to have. And all you can bear.”

Forgiving and considerate as always, a true treasure in the kingdom and the while world. “Thank you, my dove.” It was considerate of her to prepare the bath. Closing his eyes as she kissed his cheek Thomas felt a wave of warmth go through his body, leaning down slightly to kiss her temple in return, “No, I will wait for dinner with you.” He wasn’t hungry and wouldn’t want to ruin his appetite so he could be with his wife like almost every day.

He couldn’t ignore her lovely scent when he kissed her temple, drawn to her even in his ragged state, “Change your dress, I’ve made a mess.” Although he wouldn’t care he knew people around them would be less forgiving especially to her. To him she could never be less than perfect. After another small kiss on her temple Thomas drew away from her carefully so he wouldn’t dirty her any more than he already has and headed towards the bath, undressing and rinsing his hair and face before slipping into the warm water that lulled his worn muscles.

She opened her mouth to argue that he hadn’t made that much of a mess, but she decided not to. His idea of a mess and hers were a little different, so she simply smiled and nodded. Maybe if he hadn’t decided to start peeling off his clothes, she would have returned to her dressing chamber. Instead, she caught more than a glimpse of his toned back as he made his way to the bath, and it sparked her more womanly interests. Well, carnal interest would be more precise, and she ended up acting more than thinking as she trailed after him.

Granted, she needed a little help from her lady’s maid to undo the laces on the back of her dress, but she eventually got out of it, leaving her in her almost-transparent shift. Thomas’ back was still to her, but she didn’t falter, strolling over to the side of the tub and stepping in. Some of the water ended up dripping out from her added weight, but the warmth remained.

Yes, this was relaxing, and, without checking whether he had his eyes closed or not, she leaned back against him, humming in satisfaction.

When a lady of her stature got married, the first thought on everyone’s minds was usually about having children. Not just one, but several, even before she could finish saying ‘I do’. Some husbands even demanded surety of an heir before they married, but Eleanor was in a very fortunate position to have a husband like Thomas. Of course, she could tell that he wanted another child after their son was born, but he wasn’t the type to pressure her for it. It made her want to give him a second as soon as possible, to the point of her seducing him to her bed when she was sure he wasn’t on one of his sabbatical moods.

Today, however, he was looking very – and she thinks this as delicately as possible – roguish, that apart from the surprised squeak, she didn’t even mind the ‘mess’. “Nothing to forgive, my love,” she told him, smiling. “I did hear the sound of swords clashing, so I had a bath drawn up for you. It’s still warm.” She slid her fingers up his arm, gripping it a little for support as she stood a little on her tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek. “Is there any food that you’d want to have after you’re finished?”

It had been a couple of months now, Eleanor was not yet showing signs of pregnancy and although Thomas was perhaps a bit disappointed he knew patience was needed. God would bless them when it was time and there was comfort in knowing Eleanor wasn’t yet burdened and could live more energetically with their first child. Still they both wanted more children and others shared in that wish given their first still had dangerous years ahead.

Having trained for hours with a fellow knight, or more accurately a knight of his guard, now Thomas was a mess of dust and sweat on his way to his quarters to have a rinse and a bath that was hopefully waiting him. Taking off his coat and shirt so that he would not drag too much dirt across the room he thought he was alone but bumped into Eleanor, boot stomping the hem of her dress and arm brushing her sleeve. “I’ve made a mess.” He sighed apologetically to his wife, wanting to cup her face with his hands but refraining from making a further mess, “Forgive me, my dove.”

The side of Tomas’s sword that faces the crowd during executions has the inscription of:

Wan Ich Das Schwert thue Auffheben so Wunch Ich Dem armen sunder das Ewege Leben

(When I raise this sword, so I wish that this poor sinner will receive eternal life).

And the side which faces away from the crowd has the inscription of:

Möge Gott mir vergeben

(May God forgive me).

Being religious and as pious as he is able Tomas wishes mercy for himself and those he executes although he often had to pray for forgiveness because he often has revengeful thoughts about the more heinous criminals he comes across.

Headcanon;

Thomas has PTSD from the Crusades and there are several nightmares/flashbacks he has. They’re not that easily triggered but if someone would jokingly attack him he’d definitely go in fight or flight mode, mostly fight.

What triggers/horrifies him the most is pretty much the very same weapon he uses, a long sword. They’re heavy and not actually that sharp. In order to be efficient with it the blow has to be hard, otherwise you’d need to hit someone multiple times with it in order to kill them. Thomas has fallen and been pinned down a few times, resulting in broken bones and bruises but his chainmail prevented cuts. 

Those times, and having seen so many killed painfully gives him nightmares and flashbacks. His own sword is something he refuses to be without, especially outside his home, because it was his main means of protection (as it is too heavy to carry a shield with it). It still remains his protection since he doesn’t fully acknowledge in his subconscious that his fighting is over, as if just awaiting an ambush to occur.

So during stressful times he is the medieval equivalent of a PTSD soldier with a loaded gun

Open starter / Tomas the Executioner

Open to: m/f Setting: between 1300-1600s. Your muse is a suspect in a crime, maybe there is a bigger conspiracy or mystery afoot. Tomas may become a helping hand in helping yours.

The air was turning colder but chill saw no change to punishments, in fact it worked as a good deterrent for many knowing they’d be kept outside either in the stocks or left incapacitated for a period of time in the cold.

Tomas was passing a small town and its villages, left to camp outside although some farmers were kind enough to allow him to stay in a barn for a night in exchange for a couple of remedies. Although it was peaceful in the region he was stopped by a bailiff to help address a matter of theft. Suspects were caught but testimonies according to the bailiff were contradictory so Tomas was hired to interview witnesses, who weren’t exactly thrilled to talking to a man who carried death wherever he went, as well as the suspects who were told not to leave the town or face punishment for evading justice.

That and to deal with a man of lesser crimes. The man was caught for public intoxication and urination, guards having brought the suspects of the other crime there to observe as well. The drunk was locked in a pillory and given a couple of whips to the back of his legs, a merciful punishment that was not awaiting the thieve. The bailiff made clear that the one found guilty would be flogged and by each passing day five more hits would be added to the first twenty-five there was so far.

Later that day Tomas was brought one of the people who claimed innocence yet had a contradictory statement to others. They did not seem like a criminal but knowing his own notes of the past of all the criminals there were many that did not look the part. “As God is your witness you must tell the truth or risk a more severe punishment if you are found lying.” There would be no torture, at least any kind that could leave apparent markings on them.

Headcanon: Tomas feels the injustice of being an executioner because of his grandfather being forced to take on the role. Although he seeks ways to escape or change is destiny in his heart doing it deceptively often fails. Pretending to be anything else works perhaps for a night so he can have a more comfortable place to sleep on his journey but whatever he does to help others it always comes to back him being an executioner. Be it his ability to mend injuries or getting the information needed from suspects.

He’s struggling with his faithfulness to be what he was born into because he feels he (and his family’s name) is unjustly ostracised by society.

Execution places were located on hills, crossroads and outside the city, as they were considered unclean places. These were desolate locations that everyone avoided; no craftsman wanted to work there for fear of losing their honour. The only person who frequently moved nearby was the executioner, who often lived close to the execution site.
