"come on, open up." theo mumbled to herself as she continued to pick the lock. if she could totally concentrate on her work the door would have been open minutes ago, but theo found that her head was on a constant swivel as she looked out for anything lurking around. finally, she heard the beautiful sound of the lock clicking open. she was in. silently she opened the door, shut and locked it behind her. whoever was staying here had not fully secured one of the backdoors which theo was thankful for since it was her ticket inside.

theo was only here to gather information and a few supplies. she needed to stake out the place before she wanted to try to hit anything bigger. silently she moved through the halls quietly as she tried her best to memorize the layout. coming back here the next time would be much easier.

all seemed to be going well until she heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway. shit. theo stepped back, trying the closest hotel room door but it didn't move. she was in a long open hallway, there was nowhere for her to hide. this was not what she wanted to happen. pulling her gun from her holster she aimed it up so whoever it was that turned the corner would have it pointed straight at them. she waited until they were in sight of both her and the gun before she gave them a smile. "oh hello there. don’t scream, i really don’t feel like shooting you right now."

Everything’s gone downhill since she’d set foot in Vegas. She thought it would all be simple. Work the scheme, get her part of the payout, head back home with Maureen — but oh, of course, things just never were. She missed her still, but Joan couldn’t just follow her, else she would have died in vain. She let out a sigh, opening her bag and taking out a half-empty bottle of wine she’d nicked a few days before. Her eyes scanned the room. She was sure that more than half the people she was stuck with didn’t have a positive opinion of her. She could see it in the stares some threw back. “Well, the feeling is mutual, bitches,” she muttered under her breath before she brought the bottle to her lips, and it was then that she felt eyes on her from somewhere much closer. Joan rolled her eyes. “Oh, don’t give me that look. A girl’s gotta drink.”

before the entire world went to hell poppy had never given much thought about what she’d do in a scenario like this. she wasn’t someone who had spent hours thinking over a pretend plan on what might happen. but she certainly at least expected that she’d be somewhere she knew and with people she knew if anything were to happen. she was stuck with a group of strangers and a casino. not ideal. looking out over the crowd, her eyes happened to catch with one of the more...difficult members of the group. poppy gave a shrug of her shoulder. “i don’t care what you do.” she shrugged. “but you could share some.”
