Did you read Arizona prop 207?
207… the three numbers that made the impossible, possible. Where you can walk into a store and buy a joint like buying a beer or a pack of smokes, yes this too is now the American dream. Or better yet now the black and brown bodies capitalized, brutalized and ostracized for a chance to free your mind can now find peace of mind knowing that it's not “illegal” anymore. One less target on our backs, one less reason to think they could justify our blood spilled in these Americas. One Less lie to be told in order to justify being humiliated by these “protectors” I say. But one more reason to think long term… isn’t this what we do? Haven't we been the masters of this space from the beginning? Have we not made riches at the cost of our freedom, safety and reputation the lives of our friends and family members? And now once more they want to imprison us for being the pioneers and empower themselves as moguls.. 207… Did you vote for it? Did you read it? Do you know anyone who did? Did they mention our involvement? Did you hear the part about expungement? So What about the part speaking on Equity? Can you tell me what's equitable about 207 currently? And for Whom?
The police sure are getting their fair share… so much for decriminalization, sounds like new laws are going to be written with that money, new definitions and new ways to collect revenue from the already hard working people. New ways to create supposed criminals out of black, brown and indigenous body's and vigils out of Sons, Daughters, Fathers and Mothers. Did you vote for 207? As I write this the budget is being held in session and can end any day, once the budget is passed it get s even harder to fix a system working the way it is designed to.
This time though we still have a chance to make some design changes as well. Only 2mil of the overall budget is being made available for the 26 available licenses set aside for qualified applicants and by that 207 should mean those that have been disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs Black, Brown and Indigenous people! no Karen's here. The application cost as it stands is a non refundable 50.000 dollars including 500,000 dollars liquid available. You also need all facilities purchased and ready to go, so after you spent all your money to get into business you still need to hire lawyer and the myriad of cost surrounding a business let alone a highly regulated industry like cannabis should make anyone scratch their head for only 2mil put toward the equity portion as support for 26 licenses as opposed to close to 51.mill so easily handed over to the most incompetent cowardly group of public servants ever conceived and I’m not talking about the Fire Department who actually do risk their skin every day to save lives and property.
If I'm incensed about the fact that out of the estimated double the $910 million dollars in revenue from Cannabis sales in 2020 only a drop in the bucket will truly get to cycle through our communities the way it should. Creating opportunities, providing jobs, increasing health and wellness throughout the communities it serves unless let the law makers know we want to shape the face of the industry built on our backs. Currently there are at least 7 important amendments on the docket on striker bill being put forth by the speaker of the house amending 207 to more closely reflect the values of the communities it serves. I suggest heading over to www.ouraz.org for more info on the efforts to amend 207 and get informed. Because midterm elections are coming up!
So Have you Read prop 207 yet?
If the "insurrection" makes you think the people around you are not too be trusted and who a person voted for automatically makes them a bad person...
U may be easily suggestible
Black people find themselves wanting black representation, expecting it from corporations whose loyalty is only to profit... which is controlled by whites and non blacks but certain blacks get jobs in gate keeper positions who aren't loyal to actual black liberation. Gate keepers by definition are for integration into the system that will not allow you ownership if your goal is liberation.
Ya still think corporations have conscience or governments have morals?
These illusions will keep you wanting
Black liberation is in direct opposition to traditional capitalism.
