Why is falling in love with YOUR Venus so important? or Why is life beautiful :)
If you ever seen ‘La Vita e Bella’, (Life Is Beautiful) one of the classic movies of the 20th century, a masterpiece by Roberto Benigni, then you will understand this with all of your heart. If you haven’t, put it on your ‘Movies to watch’ list, as it has never been more soul-touching, heart-breaking way of telling a story about the beauty of life. Life is to be loved ~ and sometimes life can be a cruel, unfair mistress, or a cold-hearted, uninterested lover. Yet, it needs to be loved, cherished, respected, seduced. In this dance of falling in love with your life, Venus is taking the lead ~ stepping out of her passive role, in the game of love, she dances, plays, laughs, she is creative ~ finding beauty everywhere around. Love, beauty and joy are the holy trinity of Venus and these values are confronted with the deep darkness of the evil, violence and war.
In the movie, Guido is the father of a small boy and they are both taken to the concentration camp. During the unspeakable horrors of Holocaust they are enduring, Guido plays a game ~ he tells his son that ‘all of this is only a game’, it is not real and it will pass. Sacrificing everything, he goes above and beyond to protect and save not only his son’s life, but his heart as well. Not letting the monsters and nightmares touch the boy’s soul, he is fighting them off with all of his wit, intelligence, imagination, creativity, humor and love for his family. No, the Venus is not to be found in these brave and daring actions, or Guido’s cunning way-outs, or even his creative and imaginative ideas. Venus is his sense that life is more than just biological function that can be protected physically ~ life is something more, love is something more ~ worth tearing your heart apart for.
To fall in love with your Venus is to fall in love with your values. Defining WHAT exactly is worth fighting for - for YOU.
To fall in love with your Venus is to fall in love with your life. To find beauty - define beauty - and experience joy by surrounding yourself with this kind of beauty.
To fall in love with your Venus is to fall in love with yourself - when interacting, socializing, playing, choosing, seducing, being in love.
To fall in love with your Venus is to fall back on that loving-playful-magnetic energy that is very definition of ‘attractive’ ~ Venus is our personal magnet - how do we attract, what do we attract, how do we behave when attracted to something?
The difference between ignoring your Venus sign and embracing it completely is the difference between seeing a life as biological function and life as something worth living even in the most difficult circumstances, even during the war, apocalypse, dark and terror ~ because deep inside your heart you still cherish all the beauty, love and joy it contains.
Director of the movie, and the main actor, Roberto Benigni, explained that the title comes from a quote by Russian Leon Trotsky. During the exile in Mexico, knowing he is soon to be killed by the assassins, he saw his wife in the garden, and wrote that, in spite of everything, ‘Life is beautiful.’
Falling in love with your Venus is knowing & understanding this with all of your heart.
