what if the teenage mutant ninja turtles exist in the mcu but they’re just really good at staying under the radar and criminals are too embarrassed to admit they got beat up by some guys in “turtle costumes” so they blame daredevil. peter parker worked as a pizza delivery boy for a while and brought like eight pizzas to a man hole cover but thought nothing of it bc nyc

fun fact: it’s TMNT canon that the chemical container that hit Matt Murdock across the face and gave him his Daredevil abilities is the same canister that landed on the baby turtles and mutated them, so…..y’all aren’t far off

TMNT started as a Daredevil parody.

Matt’s teacher is Stick. The turtle’s is Splinter.

Matt’s enemy is the Hand. The turtle’s is the Foot Clan.

It was originally a dark, edgy, turtle themed parody of Daredevil.

Another Fun fact: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is in canon with both Marvel and DC- kina.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles started off as a one-shot that Laird and Eastman sold at conventions- which is why Shredder dies in the first issue of Mirage. It wasn’t until a fan asked them where the next issue was coming did it become a series.

Since TMNT is a parody of Dare Devil (as discussed above) it’s not officially canon, but the Mirage comics would often have Marvel or DC parodies- such as-

The Weasel, which is a parody of Wolverine

And of course, Nobody who is a parody of Batman

Speaking of Batman, here’s where we can get official with canon. Because the IDW turtles have met him

They’ve also been in Injustice 2

And here’s the trailer of the TMNT vs Batman animated film

They’ve also crossed over with-

The Ghostbusters

Usagi Yojimbo, who has been in so much TMNT stuff he’s an official character of the TMNT universe as much as he is his own character.

And of course, themselves

Which- for those of you who have seen the “Turtles Forever” movie will know that all versions of TMNT are in canon with each other. Everything. From the Amazing 2003 series right to the Japanese OVAs.

Which means anything that has crossed over with TMNT is technically in canon with each other.

I guess if there’s anything to take away from this is that- don’t be afraid to do that one-shot comic. Even if it’s silly. You might end up playing with the Big Bois of the comic world one day.

It’s also where we get “con artist”, aka “confidence artist”. It’s someone who dazzles you with the assurance that they know what they are talking about because they speak with absolute certainty despite not knowing anything. I dare say it’s gotten worse with the internet because text and careful/exciting editing makes people seem more confident than before - and if you think you’re immune, you aren’t.

This is also why you shouldn't trust anyone who says "Just debate me, bro!" Their level of confidence does not indicate their level of intelligence, correctness, or even virtue.
