*taps on mic* is this thing still on?

MAYBEĀ THEĀ BARĀ ISĀ AĀ CONSTANTĀ thatĀ heĀ doesnātĀ knowĀ heĀ needs. TheĀ sameĀ peopleĀ areĀ alwaysĀ thereĀ asĀ wellĀ asĀ theĀ owner.Ā MostĀ ofĀ theĀ patronsĀ areĀ regularsĀ justĀ asĀ heĀ isĀ andĀ heĀ canĀ usuallyĀ countĀ onĀ peopleĀ notĀ botheringĀ him.Ā JakeĀ isnātĀ muchĀ ofĀ aĀ talkerĀ theseĀ daysĀ anyway.Ā Ā TheĀ meetingĀ atĀ theĀ officeĀ hadnātĀ goneĀ expectedĀ either,Ā almostĀ landingĀ inĀ themĀ firingĀ himĀ anywayĀ after aĀ shoutingĀ match.Ā The wordsĀ ofĀ his captainĀ stillĀ ringĀ inĀ hisĀ earsĀ whichĀ onlyĀ makesĀ himĀ wantĀ toĀ drink more.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āCLEAN UPĀ ORĀ WEāLL HAVEĀ NOĀ CHOICE.āĀ
TheĀ memoryĀ makesĀ himĀ closeĀ hisĀ eyesĀ tightlyĀ forĀ aĀ momentĀ beforeĀ openingĀ them againĀ atĀ theĀ soundĀ ofĀ the manāsĀ voice.Ā AĀ slightĀ shrugĀ isĀ allĀ heĀ givesĀ forĀ a longĀ momentĀ asĀ he watchesĀ theĀ manĀ Ā refillĀ hisĀ drink.Ā Ā āEveryĀ dayĀ isĀ aĀ longĀ dayĀ lately.āĀ ItāsĀ the mostĀ heāsĀ saidĀ inĀ thisĀ barĀ fromĀ theĀ firstĀ timeĀ heĀ setĀ footĀ inĀ it.Ā Thatās aĀ startĀ right?Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Most of his patrons would smile, nod, and END the conversation, before it began. If Paul was lucky, he would have someone to exchange a few sentences with, but mostly, people waited for the drink, then returned to whatever it was they were doing. Really, he EXPECTED the same with this man. Instead, heād gotten something that was asking to be turned into a conversation. The question now was: would he do it? The man didnāt seem like he wanted to be bothered, but Paul had noticed him come in, a few times a week. He figured, heād AT LEAST introduce himself to his loyal customer.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The last bit of the manās drink was poured, and Paul walked over to give it to him.Ā āHave you ever been to Alaska?ā he said, giving the patron his drink.Ā āI havenāt, but Iāve heard the sun sets for only TWO HOURS, before it comes back up again. I canāt imagine how long those days must feel.ā He said, throwing a rag over his shoulder.Ā āAnyways, my name is Paul. Iāve seen you a couple of times, and I figured Iād say hello.ā
DARYL:
HE FALLS SILENT, gaze lingers on the way the sun hits Judithās curls, mind reflects on how long heās known her for. Itās almost unbelievable to imagine that heās been there since her birth, and sheās grown up SO FAST ā- heād barely noticed it until he remembers taking care of her at the prison.Ā āYeah,ā he says, and though thereās no smile visible on his features, itās in his voice.Ā āBeen lookinā after her since she was jusā a day old. She used tā be tiny, yā wouldnāt believe it.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Paul created a picture in his head, of Daryl with a NEWBORN in his arm, protecting her at all costs. The though brought a smile to the manās face. Eyeās fell to the toddler, as she tucked hers head into the taller manās arms. She looked comfortable and SAFE in the other manās arms. Judging by what Daryl said, Paul knew she really was safe. It was a drastic contrast from seeing Daryl murder a man right in front of him, to being so GENTLE with Judith.Ā āSheās lucky to have you. We all are,ā he said, reaching to play with the toddlers blonde locks.Ā
beaniesandmachetes:
HEāLL LEAVE OUT THE PART about hitting his head and having damn near a concussion. The only thing that truly matters is the fact that Paul is with him. They are both okay for the most part. When it comes to the other man, Jacoby wonāt take one second for granted because the war is FAR from over. Anything can happen at any time and if he letās anything stand in the way of their moments together he would never forgive himself. Eyes close as Paulās hands rest on his neck and let lets his own reciprocate the same gesture to the other. When he opens them knowing just how tall Paul is and how far he has to look down. Fingers twist within the manās long hair absentmindedly as Paul speaks.Ā āIām fine, Paul. Iāve got a bit of a headache. I think I fell on something and cut my arm but IāM FINE.āĀ Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā In complete honesty, Paul DIDNāT believe him. If there was one thing heād learned about Jake, it was their was more to him, that heād allow people to see. Most didnāt notice, but Paul DID, and maybe thatās why he felt the way he did about Jake. It was a kind of bond they shared that he hadnāt had with someone. That being said, Paul didnāt protest. He had learned that Jake would come to him, if, and when, he was ready. Thatās where TRUST would come in. Meanwhile, Paul would be PATIENT. Heād work with what he had, until he had more. The shorter man nodded, and staying as he was, wishing it could last LONGER, but there were things that needed to be done. Right now, it meant tending to Jacobyās small injuries.Ā āLetās go get you looked at. I heard thereās a new doctor? Have you met him yet?ā
CLEMENTINE:
Ā Ā Ā Ā people NORMALLY remarked on her name, either saying it was pretty or something about the fruit. thankfully, he chose the first option. not that the second bothered her, it just got really OLD, really fast. even if it sometimes remined her of the jokes her dad used to make.Ā ā itās weird. ā she said, frowning softly, the hint of a smile on her lips.Ā ā that we have to get used to feeling SAFE. ā but she knew it was because safety was temporary. it would END when they least expected. so she had to EXPECT IT. and expecting it meant she couldnāt get used to it.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā ā not yet, no. ā how did she not notice how hungry she was? maybe thatās something she WAS used to.Ā ā yeah, letās go. ā no harm in having lunch with someone right?Ā ā so⦠when did you get used to it? the people and the safety? ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Heād waited before the younger girl began to walk, before he followed here. Sky blue eyes GAZED at the people before him, as they headed towards the food tables. Everyone seemed to be working together. It was a mix of different people from each camp, interacting with each other as though they were FINALLY one group. This was the closest thing to a thriving COMMUNITY, heād seen since the end had first began. With those three soft-spoken words, Paul knew Clementine had a point. It wasnāt normal to see people working together to survive. But then again, Paul was used to being alone for the majority of his life. That was his āNORMALā.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Jesus tilted his head, looking at the girl, as they walked along side each other.Ā āYou know, I donāt think I have ever have gotten used to it, not COMPLETELY, I mean. Itās gotten easier, but I think, with everything thatās going on, itās best to always be prepared.ā Gloved hands reached for a plate as they arrived to the food.Ā āBut that doesnāt mean you canāt take a minute to relax, every now and then,ā he said with a smile.Ā
you know what? iām about to say it: iām finally gonna attempt to do drafts.
