This was a very fun exercise in colour luminosity, which is a property of colour which makes different colours give the impression of different brightnesses to the eye, regardless of actual measurable brightness. You might notice that all the colours on the dragon's body (excluding horns and wing membranes) are at 100% brightness and saturation; the impression of lighting is achieved due to the colours closer to pink having higher luminosity and therefore being perceived as brighter. The end result is maybe a little messier and doesn't quite work as well as intended (I started with the blue as a body colour without realising it's the darkest luminosity already), but I still quite like it!

Been a while since I've put anything on here so here's some dragon sketches

Ceruledge. Ceruledge is very cool. I spent way too long on this. I had things I wanted to say here but I've forgotten them all

Anyway, this was made with a stylus in clip studio paint, over the course of about two weeks on and off. For some reason the colours are appearing differently on my phone to how they looked on my computer, but I hope it doesn't affect the art too much.

This is probably the most detailed finished colour work I've done yet and I'm pretty proud of how it came out! The fire was very fun to draw

I’ll toss you my OC P.M. (Primary Matrix). He’s stupid and everyone hates him (can you tell what kind of OC this is yet?). Updated ref here, along with several old sketches:

He walks the long corridors of the God Complex, a massive underground supercomputer running a simulated universe over and over for eternity. He thinks that if he simulates every possible life of every possible being, he’ll finally find someone he lost a long time ago. He’s accompanied on this pointless quest by the Watchdog, an advanced nanobot cluster that build the Complex at P.M.’s request, achieved an alternate form of sapience, and alters the stories in the Complex to “help” P.M. (without his knowing).

There’s also Godslayer, the failed brain reconstruction of the person P.M. wants to find. He made her/it immortal to save her, but she/it has taken a different form of coping than his endless cycles of drudgery - she/it wants to destroy the Complex. The problem? She’s/It’s purely digital, and only exists within the simulation.

Sorry for loredumping! I just haven’t thought about these guys in a bit, and it all came rushing back as I drew the new refs.

Hello hello, sorry that it took me so long to get around to doing these...But finally, the sillies

This was the perfect opportunity to try out a style I haven't used in a while, and it was really fun

Here's P.M. and Watchdog - not sure if the lighting quite works here but close enough!

I also made a vague attempt at Godslayer - there is a high likelihood that this is wildly inaccurate (I am sorry) but I really liked the character's concept and simply had to give it a try...Honestly I'm pretty proud of how this one turned out, I've been trying to get cloth textures down for a while and I think this is a step in the right direction

Also this story sounds really cool, would read/watch/etc

Another Pokémon piece - this time I drew my design concept for a fusion of Lilligant and Chandelure, accompanied by some Petilil/Litwick fusions.

I've got some vague lore concepts for these guys, but nothing substantial just yet...

Tried drawing something on a computer for a change! It sure did take a while (a week or so on and off) but I am very proud of the result...V1 Ultrakill with epic lighting

I've noticed that the colours of my artworks tend to look different on different screens - it's happened to this one, but I like it both ways so that's fine. It might make a difference in some cases though

The way the wings are drawn take a bit of inspiration from a design I saw one time that drew V1 as dragonfly-like - I haven't managed to find it again but if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please leave it in the notes because it was really cool and I'd like to credit the artist

Edit (sorry chat it took me way too long to add this in): I have been informed that the initial design of dragonfly v1 can be attributed to @magnumopos, although it's been drawn by a lot of people since then -- very epic and cool concept

You could call this a redraw of the first eye closeup I drew of them, but this one has way more concept behind it - more of a spiritual successor I guess. The original has its merits but I'm way more proud of the new one, because the shading in the old one was just made with add or multiply layers, but in this one I handpicked and arranged all the colours myself. The lighting could be more cohesive but I think it does what it's supposed to do well enough

ahem. Anyways. I have not drawn anything beyond a doodle in quite a long while, but I've been wanting to draw a colour image of V1 because even though I haven't played ultrakill yet (no spoilers please) I absolutely Adore its design and it's really great for practicing more dynamic poses. There are definitely things I dislike about this one but ultimately I'm pretty proud of how it came out. No idea whether this means I'll be drawing more frequently again now, but we'll have to wait and see how life goes. For now though please enjoy the robot ever
