I've debated Haru and Towa for you, but I ultimately chose Haku for you because you seem drawn to people who are expressive, emotionally open, playful, passionate, and socially confident but also respectful of when you need some time to yourself. And Haku fits that perfectly. Well, at least that'll be the case when you get close to him, and considering your personality, that won't be too much of a problem. He has that easygoing charm and naturally affectionate energy that would help you come out of your shell without forcing you to. Since you’re someone who mirrors the energy of people you care about, I can easily see you becoming even more confident, adventurous, and openly affectionate around him over time. Your love for quality time, playful teasing, emotional sincerity, and “doing mundane things together is fun” vibes matches his energy almost perfectly.
As laid back as he is, he does understand the importance of emotional effort and mutual care. You want someone who communicates directly, supports your interests, and actively maintains the relationship. Haku’s warmth and attentiveness would make you feel emotionally safe enough to slowly lower your guard — especially since you struggle with vulnerability face-to-face. He also feels like the type who would indulge your side quests, listen to your excited rambles about games or character analysis, and happily drag you into spontaneous experiences while still respecting when your social battery dies.

There never really was a dull day with you around. Even the most mundane activities become entertaining with you and your dramatic tendencies. Hearing the sound of your voice was a nice bonus too, especially when the world got too loud.
Today was one of those days. The staff gave Subaru a large stack of paperwork to sort through and Haku helped him out. Fixing typos and incorrect figures was not a difficult task, but repeating this for several documents could have very well blinded them, no matter how locked in they got. By the time they finished, Subaru offered Haku some tea. That’s when you just happened to drop by for a visit.
“Is this a bad time?” you asked.
“Not at all!” replied Subaru. He then turned to Haku. “On second thoughts, why don’t you and <seal> have tea together?”
Haku smiled as he bade his friend farewell. “You came at a great time, actually. I kinda need to hear your voice right now.”
“Long day, huh?”
“Yup.”
He ushered you to the common room and prepared two cups of tea and some sweets for the two of you to share. As the water was heating up, he could have sworn the rain seemed to fall more softly.
“So, what’s on your mind today?” He asked. He set the tea and snacks on the table and sat across from you, hoping for you to share today’s adventures, or whatever you’ve been hyperfixated on.
You took a sip from your cup before you went off on a tangent. Today, you decided to talk about a legendary event in this otome game you’ve been hyperfixated on. A lore based story event that revolved around the characters’ childhoods.
“Finally, after AGES of silly slice of life things, the writers are feeding us some ACTUAL LORE. Granted, the heroine was learning about her partner through a lucid dream — for now, just go with it. I find the setup confusing too. Anyways—”
You continued on your rant about how the heroine learned about how her partner had so much pressure on their shoulders to be the perfect prince in two of the paths. You talked about how interesting the duality of these two princes were in how they responded to their environments. One decided it is what it is, while the other resisted. And in both, the heroine acted as a maid that gave them some emotional support and clarity.
Haku rested his cheek against his hand as he watched you continue rambling about this particular story event.
“You seem like you enjoy observing emotionally complicated weirdos,” he teased.
You gasped. “That is slander.”
“Is it?”
“…Okay, maybe a little.”
“No it isn't.”
“Nah,” you admitted with a laugh.
He chuckled victoriously before taking another sip of tea. His gaze stayed on you though — soft, attentive, relaxed in a way he rarely was after long days. Around you, silence never felt heavy. Even when you paused to think or got distracted midway through your story, he didn’t mind. He liked listening. Liked the way your expressions changed every five seconds, the way your eyes brightened whenever you got excited.
“You know,” you said suddenly, quieter this time, “I think this is my favorite kind of hangout.”
“Hm?”
“Just… this.” You gestured vaguely around the room. “Talking. Eating snacks. Existing in the same place while it rains outside. It’s nice.”
Haku smiled faintly. “Yeah. I get it.”
The words settled warmly between you.
Without really thinking, you scooted closer until your shoulder came into contact with his arm. And as if on cue, he let you lean on him. And in that moment, the last of the overwhelm washed away from his body along with the rain outside.
A/N: I just finished reading the new event in Court of Darkness, so this was on my mind at the time of writing the drabble ^^; Hope you don't mind lmao

I'm at a point with Tokyo Debunker where I'm too frustrated to play it but still interested enough in it where I'm making a rewrite and incorporating new lore drops into it
