extremely random HR headcanon:

shane is chronically offline and ilya is, well, chronically online. one day ilya looks over at shane and tells him, “if the world was ending, i’d wanna be next to you.”

shane MELTS. he tears up and collapses into ilya, showering him in kisses and wondering how he deserved this.

shane decides to tell hayden about this because it was adorable and he quite frankly can’t stop thinking about it. hayden instantly tries to tell shane that ilya was quoting a song, but shane doesn’t think ilya to be a liar, so he doesn’t do further investigating.

later that night, while shane’s cooking dinner and ilya is sitting in the kitchen scrolling on his phone, shane hears a weird, robotic voice followed by the words: “if the world was ending, i’d wanna be next to you.”

you can further imagine his distress, ilya’s laughter, and hayden pike’s eye roll.
