@iwasinaband
Seriously boys? This is what happens when you mix testosterone with hairspray. Toxic, possibly lethal.
An Easter treat for Good Friday. Decided, wailing for the Lord back in 1966 at the Queens Park Youth Club in Bedford. The chick with the come to Jesus eyes is iwasinaband's mama.
'Ferry Cafe, Gourock 1979. The bowler hat was a nod to A Clockwork Orange, besides giving me the advantage of looking like a complete twat.' Marco, Weymouth. U.K.

Don't follow the herd, BE the herd. @i_was_in_a_band
Graveyard? Check. Black and white? Yes. Awesome? Like a giant heavy metal boat firing giant lumps of burning metal at the moon.
Dreadnought were smashing Weymouth's back doors in in the mid-90s. 'More metal than Barry Sheen's legs.'
Like hot sweet tea, but the milk is on the turn.
Not really a proper band, but Al, Tom and Luke were all in the Lucky Bishops. We got together at Grimstone one evening, maybe in the summer of 1997, and recorded this.
'Bitter', because we were all yet to meet girls who would let us put hands inside their blouses.
Guitars wail, testosterone seeps.
Russian Snowball rip up the Ventnor road Chuch Hall one Friday back in 1991. Nobody is watching.
Ostensibly a school project, but even the hardest teacher must have noted a cry for help.
This sweetmeat from Chris Kilvington, a writer from London, seen here looking like a colour-blind Justin Bieber. 'At times we were called the Peanut Chimneys and in that form we played early Faith No More, RHCP and GnR covers. When this photo was taken though, I think we were the Gutter Junkies (yes, I know); and we played 80s glam-rock nonsense like W.A.S.P, Ratt and tunes from other animal-related bands. As The Peanut Chimeys, I think we were known for doing the worst rendition of Sweet Child O' Mine ever heard in Doncaster. It usually involved calling someone out of 'the crowd' to sing the song. We played on the back of a trailers, and once got as far as Thorne.'
I was in a band is dedicated to those bands we were in as kids. We thought we’d conquer the Town Crier and the White Hart, and then the world. We obsessed over our logos and posters, wrote songs, recorded demos. We rehearsed for hours, took photos for publicity. We agonised about set-lists and line-ups. And then life squeezed music out of future. We went to college, fell in love and got regular jobs.
I was in a band too! Send anything from the archives - demos, artwork, photos, your stories too: highs, lows, where-are-they-nows. Submissions should be from another lifetime.
Look at the grip on the guitars. We didn't have a clue what we were doing.
Russian Snowball circa 1990. Colin, Craig and Ali
