A bunch of Sonic characters were playing Mario Maker and trying to beat a snow(?) Sonic level I had made. For whatever reason, Ranboo and my sister were playing too, and they were the only ones who could make it to the final area, though Ranboo died immediately. They ended up just watching my sister get to the end (which was very cool of her since it required very precise jumps and she did it in one go) in a sort of spectator mode, except not really because they were shooting through the air in cannons (they could sit in the cannon and zoom in to watch her) and could still die if they fell into the pit.
Then she won the level, and there seemed to be some kind of chat that the Sonic characters were communicating with; I just remember that Eggman sent something on the chat and Ranboo said “DOCTOR ROBOTNIK?! WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?!” in that jokey yelling tone.
Then it went to a cutscene where Angel Island was about to go flying through the sky (it was already floating in the sky) and credits were about to roll, like in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. On a smaller floating rock, Shadow, Tikal and a Chao were watching them start to take off. Tikal had a smile on her face, but she also looked like she was about to cry. But Shadow looked really exhausted for some reason, and his head fell on Tikal’s shoulder with his eyes shut. Tikal looked a bit surprised, but smiled fondly at him. Then she kinda kissed his head but not really; her lips never touched his head, she just sorta pantomimed it, then went back to watching Angel Island leave; and after seeing that, my brain went “! New ship?” Then I woke up.
Guys, does Shadow x Tikal exist already? I can’t stop thinking about about it - Shadow meeting a girl who’s has been dead for centuries and getting reminded of Maria T^T I feel like Tikal would be a sort of maternal/healing figure for Shadow, where he can just let everything out in front of her and she would hold him and comfort him. I need 100,000 fanart stat
Something I just realized and something that I don't think the Sonic fanbase acknowledges enough is that Amy acts as the conscience for Team SSS.
In Sonic Adventure 2, Amy's pleading with Shadow to help the others brings back the memory of Maria asking him to do the same thing, which leads him to change his mind and go help Sonic.
In Sonic 06, Amy stops Silver from killing Sonic and proclaims him to not be the kind of person to destroy the world, which leads him to take some time and wonder if killing Sonic really is the right thing to do.
Amy even acts as Sonic's conscience in Sonic Adventure. She stops him from destroying E-102 Gamma because it freed her from Dr. Eggman. Sonic would've been fine blowing Gamma up if it weren't for Amy.
Idk, I think this is a part of her character that should be explored more.

I feel like mostly he’d hate it. Here he is, mourning someone he didn’t know and trying to go forward like Derek said, and there are thousands of people who think his life is just… fiction. Who mock him with what-if scenarios, theories about Derek actually being alive, and overall treating two very real people like anime characters.
But at the same time… he can’t help but see what they come up with. Because it’s his only glimpse at what a life with Derek could’ve been (this can be either platonic or romantic Slimeknight)
Also, I think it’d be a bit therapeutic for him to see fanart of his avatar kicking KIY’s butt lol
I took the quiz and got this... How did I get my favorite and least favorite love interest?? How would we all even meet?? Zayne and I, I can see working well since we're so similar, but Rafayel?? Idk, I feel like I would misinterpret his bratty behavior as actual dislike or that he'd be too pushy for me, but this could just be me not understanding him well enough too -_-
Okay so I had a stupid idea for a dating sim game.
It starts out with you taking a quiz, which assesses your personality and your preferences with love interests. It has a bunch of characters pre-created, but it's designed so that it chooses three love interests that you like.
Then it introduces you to the game mechanics. The game requires a microphone because it works like a glorified C.AI. It takes in your real-time responses and writes the characters' most realistic responses to it. It has you practice for a bit, especially since you can only specify that you want your avatar to perform an action by saying "Action" before you.
You finish with the tutorial and boot up the game, "Your Personalized Dating Sim". It has a pastal pink, floral design, and there's a gentle melody playing in the background...
And then a wooden stamp shows up on screen.
When the stamp pulls back, you see in big, bold red letters HELL
Suddenly, the background turns into rows of GIF flames, a heavy metal instrumental starts blaring out of the speakers, and you realize that you're into a wild ride.
Because the quiz you took at the beginning? It didn't just take in your preferences. It took note of traits or character types that you HATE. And guess what? Those are the love interests that are selected for the game. There's no way to change them either.
Your objective is to get one of these characters to fall in love with you. But the thing is, they all have some trait that makes them very hard to romance. For example, the childhood friend type would have "just-a-friend" vision on, the ice prince type is incredibly hard to thaw out, the yandere type will already have someone he's pining over, etc. Can you find the way to win their hearts? Or will you ragequit instead?
There are also two endings once (if) you do manage to win their hearts. There's the acceptance route, where you just get a nice final cutscene describing about how you two gained a loving relationship despite being so at odds with each other at the beginning. A happily ever after from a change of heart.
Or you can go through the betrayal ending. This is continued gameplay where you figure out how to break his heart after giving you so much trouble and being so annoying. However, there are difficulty levels to the betrayal ending, and depending on your seduced love interest and what you choose to do, they can either be heartbroken, completely ignore your attempts at breaking up with them, or anything in between.
So I want to write a small story about Zayne vs Xavier for an isekaied reader (that might turn poly Idk), and the only hobby/interest I can think of to connect them is video games. I’m thinking she’ll work at a “retro” video game store (video games from our world).
So my question to all you guys is… what kind of video games do you think Zayne and Xavier would like?

Though I do have a theory that the KIY was trying to scare/demoralize Avery the whole time in order to make the merging happen as smoothly as possible, so there's that. But I also like the idea of the King getting frustrated at the puzzle solving difference between D3rLord "Nice poem" and Avery "Bro is speaking enchanting table".
When I think about what I would do in D3rLord's place in SFAWTDE, I give myself a little chuckle bc my rule is "Right is always right", so the King would have to shuffle literally everything so I could get to the right places, and I would take a little satisfaction in knowing that I made the King work to ruin my mind with infinite knowledge
(Also I'm nowhere as smart as D3rLord, so I would probably need crafting table level hints like Avery lol)
Okay so I know the whole thing with SFAWTDE/DAWTDE's King in Yellow is "eldritch being who gives you infinite knowledge when you look at it", which doesn't seem to align much with the original KIY, where it's just reading the play making you go insane (which is fine, creative license is good)
BUT something I just realized is how Avery's story lines up with one of the original KIY stories, "The Yellow Sign". In that story, the narrator, Mr. Scott, has the King in Yellow book in his house, but insists on not reading it, knowing the warnings that come with it. However, later in the story, he finds that his model, Tessie, has read it, and feels obligated to read it as well so she isn't alone during this.
I feel like this parallels Avery's story quite well. Avery was warned not to go left at the crossroads. I'm sure he was at least somewhat aware of the theorizing online, even if he didn't know who the KIY was. He had every opportunity to close the game, delete the world, and not look at it anymore. But he couldn't leave D3rLord behind. He couldn't abandon this person who worked to warn him from potential danger.
The King led D3rLord on by his curiosity/determination.
The King led Avery on by his kindness.

Okay, so I know I made this poll about this idea before, but I kinda realized that D3rLord probably just does solo gaming, so he wouldn't really get the chance to connect with someone online like I was originally thinking.
Not only that, but I wanted to change my idea to involve all the LIs. This is what I'm thinking so far (roughtly chronological):
Zayne = very soon after DAWTDE, someone found Non-MC (landlord lol) and called an amubulance for them
Rafayel = just hanging out, the King is muttering stuff in their head and messing with them, making Rafayel concerned for them
Sylus = he had the resources to link Non-MC to this Minecraft ARG thing, confronts them to see if it's all true/if they're okay
Caleb = debating with him about whether to tell Avery they're alive, lots of comparisions betweeen each other
Xavier = hanging out with each other, Non-MC spots Avery in a crowd and eventually decides to approach him, Xavier watches the reunion very confused and slightly jealous
Idk if there's one person I want him to end up with, but this is meant to be a LADS x Non-MC fic, so I'll probably keep their relationship with Avery platonic (sry Slimeknight shippers). What I'm kinda stuck on is how the LIs would know them in the first place.
I'm going to do a cop-out with Zayne and Caleb & just say they all grew up together. In that way, Zayne and Caleb can see the burnt-out-gifted-kid aspect of Non-MC.
But I genuinely have no idea how to insert Non-MC into Xavier, Rafayel, and Sylus's lives, especially since I don't really want Non-MC to interact with MC too much (there is lore reasons for after DAWTDE 😁). If you guys have any ideas, please comment them below!
Also I'm going to apologize in advance for anything I end up writing, as it will likely mischaracterize everyone (I'm especially expecting Rafayel girlies to demand my head on a stick lol)
So Avery uploaded "weird book i did NOT write" on October 18, and it's confirmed DAWTDE takes place on New Years Eve, December 31.
That's 74 DAYS MINIMUM that Derek was stuck. Ten weeks and four days of staring at the screen, eyes burning yet unable to look away without terrible pain. Two months and thirteen days of relying on whatever's nearby for sustainence, probably suffering from malnutrition, starvation, and/or dehydration.
Sure, we don't know how long he passed out for in between recordings, but that's still a VERY significant amount of time to be stuck in one place, literally unable to move. And it doesn't sound like there was anyone there to help him during it.
No wonder he was so willing to sacrifice himself at the end and saw himself as a lost cause... I'm sure he felt seconds away from keeling over anyway.

I wanted to combine two of my hyper fixations and have been thinking about a SFAWTDE/DAWTDE x LADS AU with a D3rLord/Derek GN Non-MC reader who survives the merging and is able to live normally because having the King in their head actually helps with the infinite knowledge thing.
I feel like Derek gives off burned out gifted kid energy, so that’s how I’d characterize this Non-MC character.
I’m thinking they met online and eventually met up IRL and became friends. Then the whole ARG happened and Non-MC has been non-responsive for weeks, maybe months, which worries him. And then they eventually get back, but now it seems like they’re… not fully there. Like they’re seeing or hearing something that isn’t there (the King or their newfound knowledge).
WAIT- The King showed D3rLord that reality is a fabrication, right? Maybe it showed Non-MC that they live in a game!! Maybe he’s buddies with Astra too, Idk
What I’m not sure about is Avery. He’s obviously a big part of D3rLord’s story, but where would he be in this story? Would it make more sense to Non-MC to want to avoid him to let him have a normal life again, or would it be better if they met up again/IRL? Or… could he be a rival against the LI???
