Date Night
Elisa looked up from her food and smiled. Now it was getting especially romantic. Classy, even. But for some reason she wasnât focusing on what they were wearing or how they looked at all. She was just excited. This would start something completely new. Somehow she thought she was ready. They were ready. It had been awhile now and right now was the right time. âThank you.â She nodded with a small smile. This is perfect, she thought. Lis didnât want to be too emotional about this. It was just all so much to her.Â
She raised her glass, âwhy donât we make a toast?â She smiled and raised her eyebrows in question. âTo the new year and hopes itâs full of adventure and happiness.â Her eyes showed so much happiness in this moment, that she was sure she could just stay right here. It wasnât about doing anything. It was about being with her and just being close. Knowing that they were safe and starting to realize how safe they could be was all worth it. It was all worth being here. âNow what do you say? Ready to start an adventure with me?âÂ
Elisaâs little toast shouldnât have made Jack emotional. That was fucking ridiculous. She was a cold blooded killer, for christâs sake. Sheâs attacked and killed people for no reason. Mushy words shouldnât have made her have to resist tearing up, but they fucking did. Goddammit; Jack was so taken with her.
While she was able to keep any signs of misty eyes away, her smile was much wider than normal and there was a look in her eye most have rarely seen. With her wine glass in hand, she raised it, smiling all the while at Elisa, and said, âI wouldnât want to do it with anyone else.â
