||Life lately: Promise ring status ✅, celebrated 3rd monthsary on the 23rd this month ✅, currently approaching final teaching week of the semester and then immense exam grind till the 25th of June and hopefully back to thread replies after exams.

Bond smirked and placed a hand on Arch’s shoulder. "Unless either of us can’t go on due to a debilitating injury or condition, nobody can and will stop us."

"Pfft," Bond snorted. "Brandt himself has low self-esteem. I'm pretty sure he'd be more supportive, rather than judgemental and sneering at you for this."

He looked into the other man's eyes and the signature smug smile returned. "Thank you, Benji."

Bond wasn't exactly wrong. "Alright... You make a valid point." he replied, chuckling softly as his gaze dropped to the ground, before meeting the other man's blue eyes. "I guess... Is this the part where we go for a drink or something? Can't say I've been in this game for a long time."

Bond's gaze met Benji's and his smile widened a tad more. "I know somewhere we can go, away from the spotlight and out of the radar. Are you game for that?"

You would think for someone who's seen drinking so much, he wouldn't be a bloody lightweight.

Arch had been the designated driver for this work night out, and so also got lumped with keeping Bond safe when he got himself a bit more than tipsy. It had been the early morning when they and the rest of the small gaggle of friends of MI6 and STEALTH had parted ways from their pub crawl, and Arch took the other agent up to the flat Arch had securd for himself, a nice highrise with views of the wider city.

For now, Arch had left Bond on his bed for now, leaving him some water and pain meds for when he woke up, while Arch himself took the sofa even if he looked like it was meant for a dwarf with his massive stature.

When Arch roused around half ten, he decided against trying to go back to sleep and instead rolled off of the sofa groggily, heading into his kitchen to grab some items to make food.

When Bond realised he had been sleeping in an unfamiliar environment, he stirred uncomfortably and fumbled out of bed, his whole body slamming onto the ground with a loud crash.

Wincing softly, he managed to pull himself together nonetheless and crawl to the bathroom. There he was, crouching before the toilet. The light that shone through the windowsill made him force his eyes shut and rest his chin on the toilet seat, hoping the hangover wouldn't stay for long.

Arch's enhanced hearing caught the sound of Bond crashing to the floor and called out "Bond? You alright, mate?" He listened out for a moment, before he set the items he was holding to make some food and walked through the living room to his bedroom, seeing the en-suite door open and Bond hunched over the toilet.

"Bloody hell, you look like bloody hell." Arch's tone was soft as he stepped closer, crouching down to rub Bond's back.

Bond opened his eyes briefly upon hearing the familiar voice and forced them shut once again once the wave of dizziness hit. The walls were spinning and the rubbing motion made him feel sick to his stomach.

"I-" He clutched his stomach tightly as a wave of nausea sent him lurching forward, dry heaving into the toilet. He knew he had to get it out of his system, but he was struggling to do so.

When he saw how bad of a state Bond was in, he came into the bathroom and knelt down next to him, gently rubbing his back. "Is there anything I can get you? Want me to hold your hair back?" He joked.

As excruciating as it was to laugh, Bond managed a soft snort. His plight was the most unusual, to say the least, given his usual consumption of alcohol.

"...Sure, feel free to hold the strands of hair back, I won't bite... not like I can, anyway." He wanted to at least try and maintain his sense of humour, or rather - remain witty when he was vulnerable to avoid being labelled as a lightweight.

Though deep down, he already knew he was one.

It was never a good sign when a building started to burn down.

Normally, Bond wouldn't mind taking his time to escape the building, but in cases like this when he wasn't alone, the adrenaline coursing through his veins forces him to act immediately.

He was reminded of his mission and the fact that he was working with another agent.

"Maria!" Bond shouted, forcing himself to stand and search the room for his companion. "Maria, come in!" The fumes were causing him to choke slightly but he hoped that she'd hear him somehow.

Bond shot his cuffs before knocking on the door and entering M's office, standing next to Maria. He was told that he'd be working with a fellow agent for this mission as it was rather tough to complete alone.

Bond often disagreed with that sentiment because for one: he was stubborn and for two: it would most definitely be easier to get through various obstacles without disagreements should they surface.

Nonetheless, he shrugged away his thoughts and outstretched his dominant hand to shake Maria's hand firmly. "You must be the agent I'm working with for this mission. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

Maria looked over at the door, she'd been expecting Olivia, M, to be the next one through it but instead it was Bond, studied him as he moved into the room and then a relaxed smile spread across her face and she reached out to shake his hand.

"003," Maria said with a nod. "Maria Bloomsco, I think M is just taking care of something with her diary, I don't think she'll be long." Maria admitted. "It seems we're going to sunny climes, the Bahamas no less."

"That's right-" Olivia's voice came from behind them. "Your goal will be to get to know these two." Olivia held out a picture of a rich couple on a yacht.

Bond returned the nod. "I certainly look forward to the warmer weather. Been a tad bit gloomy these days."

He turned around as soon as he heard M's voice.

Taking a few glances at the picture he raised an eyebrow. "Who are they?" It didn't exactly sit right with him that he had to get to know a couple - there must be something more to it apart from just looking rich and obnoxious.

A half-hearted snort escaped Bond as he resisted the urge to make a snarky comment in return. He, too, had to work for his own money but he often made it tougher for others to complete their job painlessly.

"Correction - I've been here since yesterday organising a few files in the Archive and was told to deliver this to your office." Bond looked down at the parcel he was holding.

"Don't worry. I haven't had a look. It's for your eyes only."

He set the kettle back down on the side and dipped the teabag into the cup, lifting and sinking it repeatedly. Preparing tea was like some sort of meditation for him, especially when he had had a long night.

An eyebrow rose as he gave the parcel in Bond's hands a side-glance. "From the archives?" What on earth was in it then? "Did you at least get some sleep?" More than him, anyway.

It would've surprised many, but after some consideration, Bond reckoned that M stayed up late to clean up after the double ohs again.

Now that he wasn't active in the field, it made him feel sympathetic towards his superior.

"Yes sir," Bond nodded, placing the parcel onto M's desk gently to avoid aggravating the other man, "I don't think it's urgent, so you could probably get some rest before looking at it."

He paused briefly before continuing, "M, If you have a bit of downtime tonight, would you possibly like to head out for a drink to help you unwind a little?"
