Virgin Atlantic
Well the past couple of weeks have been busy! Since the last post I have been getting some work done. I have been mainly concentrating on Virgin Atlantic branding, this deadline is coming up rapidly and i have been really getting into it. This post will show some of the updates from that project. I have also been developing some other projects such as, Clayton Hotels, BDF type and Type Talks!
Virgin Atlantic!
Since the last update i have decided on a name and route to go down. The name will be Virgin Atlantic Adventure, this is to keep the sub brand connected to the original brand. The name shows the ambition of the sub brand and the key brand message which is be adventurous and spontaneous. This then helps form the identity system which i will get onto.
For the logo my initial thoughts was to have a static logo which can been seen below, this would be ocumplied with polaroids and old images to show the memories of travelling. This idea was flat and boring, I decided that i wanted an identity that would change and flow for whoever is viewing it.
After looking into Responsive logos and Variable logos i decided that to match the target audience which isn’t really a demographic but an attitude, I need to have an identity that would change to suit the type of demographic that was looking at it. During some brain storming sessions that you can see below, i have gone through some ideas which span from typographical to shapes been created.
After looking at the places that the company fly too and where holidays can be taken, i noticed that shapes could be made across the map. Shapes and lines could be made which could be then taken into an identity that follows the shapes and the idea that different countries will see a different logo mark.
The identity is starting to come together but loads of work is still going to be needed. I am liking the uses of grainy gradients as well as a colourful palette.
