🌸today’s progress🌸 30/9/20

🍃hello,,, just a quick update again!! Ever since the history paper, it sort of messed up my sleep schedule so I’m trying to get it tuned back and boyyyy exam anxiety really sucks because you cannot concentrate but when you try to get some rest, the stress keeps you awake and you constantly change between going to sleep and waking up early to study or feeling guilty about it and going back to study 🤧 and my eyes sorta hurt lol what’s wrong with me always getting all kinds of problems ☹️ but I applied heat pack onto my eyes and feel slightly better right now!

🍄yesterday’s history exam didn’t go as well as I expected even though I came across a similar kind of question before and I just sorta panicked at the moment and didn’t do it up to my standards but oh well, I went back home ranting to my tutor about it and all but oh well, as she said, it’s over and there’s nothing much I can do about it anymore

🐚today’s literature test was three hours, two for the first paper and one for the next. I was kinda stumped at the first part, desperately trying to link the text (The Great Gatsby) and the poems to literary devices and ran out of time 😅 well, for the next paper (The Caretaker) I did a practice question on it before and damn, a similar question came out! I also revised it with a friend the day before and it was the first time I actually completed my literature paper on time! (don’t worry, it’s pretty normal to not complete it here!)

🍁I’ll be off any socials except for this blog for now until the end of my exams on 2/10 just to make sure I do my best and also to leave the best (interacting with beautiful people) for the last! Because engaging with my fab people on my main blog and moots are just so fun and I don’t want to do it hastily because it’ll be insincere!! So if any of you see this (Micchi I’m cueing you) hope you have a good day and I’ll be re-accessing all my socials after that! I also made plans with my friends out of college to meet up and have some fun and I just cannot wait!!

🌸today’s progress🌸 28/9/20

🍃hello,,, today’s general paper was whackkk, I just hope I can meet the passing criteria FFF 🤧🤧 anyways, to prepare for tomorrow’s history exam, I’ll be sleeping early today so I’ll keep this post short!

🍄I had a consult with my tutor, in which she tries to calm me down hahahahah but I did review two of the practice papers I did with her and actually learnt a bit more. I refined my notes and went through it a little. But I’m feeling that there’s a headache coming my way soon so I’ll be resting early and waking up early to revise for the test! Revision practices are the first two pics and notes are the next two! 🍁

🌸today’s progress🌸 27/8/20

🍃hello,,, so today has been one of the most productive days ever. I completed everything I had on task (attached in the first pic below) I feel that it’s the first time I was able to actually finish everything I planned out for the day. One thing for sure is that I learnt to plant achievable goals instead of just trying to cram everything together. And it did help a lot! ALSO PLS PARDON MY HANDWRITING, I WAS TIMING MYSELF UNDER EXAM CONDITIONS

🍄first, I went to highlight act 3 and read up on The Caretaker, then I went to refine my history notes after my tutor provided some extra feedback. Then, to test the results and effectiveness of my notes, I attempted a history practice paper!! I handed it to my tutor and will review it tomorrow

🐚next, I did a literature practice question and handed it in to my tutor. Hopefully I can receive feedback by tomorrow to review everything!

🌼then, I did some reviewing of my general paper format for the 2 papers tomorrow!! Gosh, there’s so much to cover, I’m just gonna hope and pray for the best. (Shoutout to Sangeetha for making the paper 2 notes!)

🍁Lastly, I did a practice paper for my general paper 2, it’s been long since I did a paper again, and I spotted some mistakes I made. Hopefully I will learn from them and not make the same mistake again tomorrow! Now I’m lying in bed, reading up a it more, hopefully I can get some content in my head! Am gonna sleep early tonight too :)

🌸today’s progress🌸 26/9/20

🍃hello,,, idk why but today kinda sucked because I didn’t have motivation to do my work. Although I did finish some work, I think I could have done more and with the minimal amount of time left, it’s really stressful 🤧🤧 I’ve been feeling unsatisfied with my performance these few days ugh. I finished up my history notes today (finally)

🍄then I annotated my caretaker play and did highlights for acts 1 and 2, I wanted to do a practice question but didn’t have time to do so ☹️ idk if it’s because I set so many goals for myself in a day and just get Super frustrated when I cannot accomplish them. But it sucks wkejbckw

🌸today’s progress🌸 25/9/20

🍃hello,,, so I woke up early for today morning’s consult and it ended earlier than expected!! So I made some breakfast for myself. Today on Chef Jaya’s menu we have: scrambled eggs, cherry tomatoes, mini ham sandwiches and a banana to kickstart the day 😎 So to prepare myself for the upcoming general paper, I read up on some global news while eating breakfast

🍄I spend the entire day doing history and everything is pretty much digital for history so I didn’t get that in the picture. I finally did the thing Indreaded the most, which is to label all the parts of my lecture book because it was simply too hard to continuous find and flip for the information. Why didn’t I do it earlier? Lazy 🤧 But yeah, I guess today was productive, but still, I wished I could cover more than one subject. I’m leaving literature the caretaker play for tomorrow along with the remaining of my history notes and do maybe one general paper practice

🌸today’s progress🌸 24/9/20

🍃hello,,, okay, massive shit show, I forgot that we’re supposed to turn up half an hour earlier for our tests and turned up three minutes before 🤡🤡 but I still managed to take the test, and some of the things I studied for actually came out!! I wouldn’t exactly say I did well for this paper because it’s honestly hard to tell for economics papers but all I can say is that I did my best 🤧

🍄after the test I went to have breakfast with a friend because it’s not everyday where we can enjoy the fast food breakfast menus! And then I went home to take a nap before starting to revise for my history. I have a consult with my tutor tomorrow at 8am tomorrow morning so I’ll be going to bed now!

🌸today’s progress🌸 22/9/20

🍃hello,,,today has been full on studying for my economics exam in two days time!! there’s so much content to cover and it is very difficult to get everything into my head. The concepts are fairly easy to understand, but the fact that we have to use economics terms to explain our answer makes it hard. And personally for me, it is hard to unpack the question and write what they want because they don’t explicitly tell you what topic is the question under and the keywords they give are rather vague and can be stretched over several topics, sometimes I feel like it’s a matter of luck but oh well.

🍄I consulted my tutor once about it and he said my problem was with the question analysis. I guess I’ll be focusing more in the question analysis aspect tomorrow and quickly brush through vol.2 on market failure because the explanation for externalities is just craaaazy! I did some filing today and am kinda shocked at how many practices I have covered in this entire year. Hopefully everything pays off

🌸today’s progress🌸 20/9/20

🍃hello,,, first thing in the morning I read some newspapers to help with my general paper exams, and then I did my economics consolidation (reorganised + printed out my notes for revision!) I was kinda pissed at the app because it kept eating up my notes and I had to redo it multiple times, but on the bright side, I’ll treat it as some extra practice to make things perfect! 😅

🍄I met with a friend in the afternoon where we did notes for the literature play we’re tested on, The Caretaker by Harold Pinter. I got to say, it’s a really intriguing book and the details of it are very significant in the progression of the play. Although this play generally did not have really long sentences and whatnot, there were many a times the silence in the play meant different things and as you can tell from the picture below, there was a ton of annotations to do with quite a few literary devices!😉

🐚I went to my cousin’s today to celebrate her birthday 🎂 and when I got home, I finished rereading the last chapter, chapter 9 of TGG and did the usual search for narrative devices and literary devices + language use from the last chapter to finish up. I also briefly browsed through the notes I copied from my tutor and found quite a few links between the chapters I had not noticed before! kinda cool 😎

✨in conclusion: I think I’m getting into momentum for my revision, but still got lots to catch up with exams being round the corner! I didn’t do history today so that’ll be my priority tomorrow morning!

🌸today’s progress🌸 19/9/20

🍃hello,,, so today I woke up early to make my way to the nearest Starbucks in my area for their breakfast set!! I got Rosemary Chicken croissant and a cup of warm coffee to start the day! It was scrumptious 🤤 and then to kick start this day, I started off with watching my history revision lectures and started to do up some summaries for my upcoming exams! Although I was productive, I couldn’t finish the whole thing in my time at Starbucks because I was chased out (due to the COVID situation), and I Guess it just kinda sucks for me because I concentrate better outside and all! But nonetheless, I did manage to finish watching the lecture and sort some stuff out so I guess that’s good

🍄I started to re-read chapters 7 & 8 of The Great Gatsby and I guess I did find more literary devices, as well as imagery, simile, symbolism, allusions etc. and it just keep getting myself appalled by the storyline and the audacity of some characters. I feel that to actually appreciate a book and what it entails, we do have to read it several times. The first time is the plot, then the second time the details, then the next few would be deep analysis of the book or intricate details that people often overlook! I’ll probably be finishing the last chapter tomorrow to finish the book so that I can do consolidations!

🌸today’s progress🌸 15/9/20

🍃i read TGG (The Great Gatsby) chapters 3,4 and 5. Did plot summaries and tried to find literary devices and used YouTube live to help me with studying and I spent quite a long time adding new stuff to the plot summaries with some extra notes because every time I read again, I feel like I learn and understand the book more again and unlocked new things from the story. Kinda troublesome too ngl fihfyfgigfg I also tried to find some literary devices, symbolism and motifs to go with it. Hopefully it’ll help me with my upcoming exams 😅

🍄i spent most of my time doing history and trying to use the lecture book to do up the notes because Southeast Asian history is just so so complicated when you have about 8 countries to study all at once while you still need to evaluate the patterns ☹️

🐚i also managed to call up my friends to read up on our economics market failure notes and did up our unfinished notes for our five step externalities analysis paragraph and i feel like it’s sucking up any vitality I have. I also read up a little on the mind map I made months ago and I genuinely hope that it will help 😭

🌼i was down with tummy ache today, doesn’t help that im on my period too welps! but as a typical lev simp, my favourite go to read when I’m on my period is this! I’m still too awkward to interact with the writer so yes, I’ll be a quiet fan🌼

🍃I did a review of chapters 1&2 of The Great Gatsby for my exams next next week, and I reread both chapters. I do have to say that every time you read a book, it’s as if you found something new about the plot and all! I’ve always been funny about literature because I seem to understand everything that’s going on, but just cannot get it right in my essays. Literary devices are a killer for me ☹️

🍄after finishing literature, I called a friend to do our economics prep work tomorrow’s lecture, and it pretty much sucks because I kind of forgot everything from the market structure topic. It’s reassuring to know that I’m not the only one facing this problem, but it sucks because we’ve too much content to cover 😅

🌸today’s progress🌸 12/9/20

🍃 finished up two history preparation for next week’s tutorial in college! I used the writing analytics to help me with structuring my arguments and sentences as well as with the help of my notes! I think studying with someone with me because there’s some sort of peer pressure? I especially love watching Ziho studying live on YouTube they have like crackling wood camp fire as a background and I find it very good for helping me focus! And of course with my favourite koala pencil case 🐨

🍄as a person who sucks at math a lot, doing calculus was a big struggle for me, but I managed to make it through 3 hours of practice questions, with the help of my notes, and I got to say that I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome. Although I kinda wished I started revising earlier because for the past few months I’ve been living in denial and pushing my math books to rust like ‘I pretend I do not see’ -👄-
