Weekly Tumblr Review 05/08/2022
1. What went well this week?
This week despite the seemingly never-ending list of things I had to do, I was able to get through all of it and feel as if I did well on my LS40. I think what I am starting to understand is that no one ever has enough time for all of the things they have to do. Sometimes time needs to put into other things and no matter how hard we try to plan, things will always go wrong, but we just have to roll with it. I’m starting to understand that and trusting that I’m able to complete everything I need to despite the time constraints (even if I need to sacrifice some sleep).
2. What was your greatest accomplishment or favorite memory?
My favorite memory this week was going to De Neve to enjoy their Cinco de Mayo themed dinner with my friend after my LS40 midterm. I never ate that much food in my entire life. I literally got every single dish they were serving. I tried their poblano chicken mole (which is one of my favorite foods). Although it didn’t live up to my expectations, I enjoyed it. Their tostadas with beans, cheese, and meat were so good; they reminded me of home. For dessert, I ended up eating tres leches cake, churros, ice cream, and a brownie. I was so full that night but I definitely got to enjoy myself that night after a long week.Â
3. Who made you smile this week? Why?
During a 12 hour lock-in with my friends, while Angie was sleeping we tried to feed her hot Cheetos. I was laughing so hard when Ethan said not to use the “chode” hot Cheeto and to use a bigger one. I haven’t laughed that hard in so long. Â
4. What didn’t go well this week?
The one thing that didn’t go well this week was my eating schedule. Sometimes I get so caught up in all of the things I need to do in a day that I just forget to eat or drink water. Then, I don’t realize it until my head starts pounding or my stomach starts growling violently. I think this week I am going to make sure that my fridge is stocked with a bunch to-go options.Â
5. What did you waste time on the most this week?
This week I honestly didn’t have any time to waste, which I am pretty proud of. I spent every second either doing work or doing interviews.Â
6. Any negative thoughts or emotions affecting you?
This week I was really sad that I couldn’t spend mother’s day with my mom. I think I’ve now realized that I’m going to miss a majority of holidays because I’m here in LA. It made me a little homesick again. I always get homesick whenever I see pictures of my family doing things, especially without me. It definitely sucks being far from home.Â
7. What needs to be done in the upcoming week?
This upcoming week I have a 7A midterm at night; a coding assignment due Friday for LS40; scheduling 6 more interviews with very important people for the week and preparing for my finals.Â
