Three more from the #sketchbook , last three I'm gonna share for a bit 😘 #drawing #watercolor #ink #sketch #gouache #moleskine #moleskineart #instaart (at The Union for Contemporary Art)
Three more #recent #sketchbook pages (at Omaha, Nebraska)
Since at least my teen years Ive always had a #sketchbook. Its such a valuable tool for working out ideas of all kinds. Even if some of them are crap ideas, getting that crap out of your head makes more space for the good stuff! Anyways, I've been enjoying my #sketch practice lately so I got some good scans up at the Union to share here! A lot of #ink some #gouache some #coloredpencil some #marker on these #moleskine pages ✌🏼️🖌🖍🖋 (at Omaha, Nebraska)

This is a poem called The Dark American Rodeo by Noah Sterba. He doesn’t use much social media, so I’m posting it for him. We’re going to be doing three panel prints of this under our collaborative project Slowed Soul in the near future.
Since the printing this poem has been widely criticized. I understand the language can be violent and hurtful, and we have regretted printing and performing it. Noah has since made a public apology via his now defunct Instagram/Slowed Soul instagram. He has also been part of a public mediated discussion with two local artists of different racial backgrounds about race/identity and the impact of language within the art world. I choose to keep the poem posted as reference, because I think even in mistakes we can learn.
Okay, it's time for our #fall #pledge #drive, or #airplane #ride, in this particular case. Got some #drawing up for #sale on my website. ⛓Link⛓ ➡️in⬅️ 🐸bio🐸 (at Los Angeles, California)

The thing I like about paper over wood or canvas is that paper has memory. You have to take care of it. From unrolling it from a roll, it wants to roll back. In flattening it out to paint- any crease or fold made is a new scar on the surface. You can try to bend it back, but it's always going to be there. The wetness of the ink forms rivers, valleys and ripples that when dried up leave canyons and landmarks across the surface. Paper and ink grow with you, and you have to be careful how you treat it all the time. It is understood that if you lose control of the paper, there's no going back. That's why I like paper. Been thinkin bout dogs and doing these drawing paintings this weekend 😎🤘🏻✌🏼️ . . A Dog's Heart is in its Bark//A Dog Probably Doesn't Dream in Barks 3ft x 3.5ft + Reference for Reference 3ft x 16in (at Los Angeles, California)
I had a dream last night in which I met the worlds largest humming bird. 3.5x4ft (at Descanso Steps)
I think this is the first #comic I've drawn in #2016 Not my best, but I think it's pretty good. (at Los Angeles, California)
Don't think I've actually tried to use #color since 2014, but I got this #vermillion ink and I'm loving it. The #pigment is made from the mineral cinnabar, and is a little more #red than it looks here. Its use in #art goes way back to #ancient cave #painting, and it has been used ceremonially in just about every #civilization around the world since then. Powerful stuff. Anyways, I like how it came out so I put this drawing is up for sale on my website. ✌🏼️😎 (at Los Angeles, California)
