your mars and type of anger
cold anger: air mars (gemini/libra/aquarius) and virgo mars
This people are scaaary. They do get angry, don’t misunderstand me, but when they do it’s not about explosions and shouting, no. You can see the emotion leave their eyes and you know you’ve pissed them off. They won’t necesarilly say anything, they’ll treat you like a stranger, they will be cold and formal, so much you’ll doubt if you ever knew them at all.
When they reach their limit, they cut you with words and truths about yourself that may have not even been spoken outloud until that moment.
white hot anger: fire mars (aries/leo/sagittarius)
While air mars are patient and detached, fire mars are fireworks and loud words. This mars signs don’t take much to explode, they’re like powder, you just need a match. Attacking their ego is probably the quickest way to anger them. They are pretty childlike in that sense, actually, they shout and tell you what you did and then they go back to normal.
This may be quite surprising but I do find them as the type that “forgive and forget”.
Willing to physically fight you so be careful lol.
slow cooked anger: taurus and capricorn mars
This are some of the most patient signs, they deal quietly with your bullshit, throw you a mean look from time to time and keep going on. They may not find the point on telling you anything.
But once they have reached their peak, you don’t wanna be there. They lose their shit and tell you things as they are. This people don’t like to be angry, mostly because of their practical approach to things, so when they are, they just tell you things and move on. If you make the same mistake again, they’ll probably just cut you off.
This signs are extremely blunt, and say things as they are, which, even if they don’t want to can be pretty damaging to the other person.
hidden anger: water mars (cancer/scorpio/pisces)
Water mars, like most things water, are quite complicated.
Given their passive nature, they hardly ever speak up when angry. They are just prone to giving the silent treatment and being slightly passive agressive from time to time.
Scorpio mars is the most conscious of their anger, though, so even if they are not passive agressive or anything, they do swallow their anger and keep it inside until they can’t anymore.
This signs are prone to holding grudges and taking revenge. Cancer and pisces may not actively seek it, but if the opportunity comes up, they will take it.
Scorpio mars on the other side, may be vengeful when they reach their limit, as well as self destructive and intense. They are the prime example of losing one’s shit.
Cancer and pisces mars are specially prone to crying when angry and love to play the victim.
Mars Signs
Mars in Aries: Master of Aries, Mars gives the natives tons of energy, sex appeal to resell, and sometimes an explosive character that you will have to learn to control. Fortunately, your anger soon evaporates. Enthusiastic, assertive and bold, you are a natural leader who attracts attention even without looking for it.
Mars in Taurus: You are a nervous person, you work hard, you have feet on the ground. Determined, persevering, sensible and indefatigable, you can be distracted by the desires of the flesh, but when you engage in something, whether in a relationship or in a job, it is for the long-term - and the money. Born with great practicality, you pay attention to material goods and social status, often far more than you would like to admit.
Mars in Gemini: With the planet of aggression in the sign of the twins, you are fiery, contentious, nervous and irritable. Although you adore debating, you are not able to distinguish important principles from points of detail. Your energy rises and falls at a sometimes dizzy pace, but you have a keen and ingenious mind, and you are incredibly fun.
Mars in Cancer: You are a basically emotional person who needs to master his moods before he can successfully achieve his goals. If you do not understand it, you tend to make the head. You are extremely sensitive, but you may give people signs so subtle that many do not perceive them. In a couple relationship, you may be possessive and tenacious while you should be angry and take the door. You cook in your juice. You bury your emotions. You have to learn to be direct. But you are also awake, protective, devoted and imaginative, in bed and elsewhere.
Mars in Leo: Confident, exalted and indefatigable, you have passion, presence and continuation in ideas. When you are hired for a cause or an activity, virtually nothing can stop you. That’s right, you can be egotistic (which means you’re bringing too much interest to your own person) and arrogant, and your need to have an audience can be boring. However, your warmth, your enthusiasm and your eagerness to take the first step bring you many admirers, sentimentally and elsewhere. You create the excitement.
Mars in Virgo: Control is of paramount importance to you. You work hard, you are calculator and ready to look really straight in the eye. Sensible and methodical, you can detach yourself from your emotions when your success depends on it. This quality is advantageous for your career. In your private life, it gives you the amazing ability to turn on and off your sexual urges, at will like it.
Mars in Libra: In the best of cases, you are friendly, charming, you have class and you are incredibly attractive. You enjoy social life and you are willing to compromise, emotionally and in other situations. But you turn at a loss without a partner, professionally and personally. Moreover, you tend to conceal your uncertainties and insecurities by justifying your inconsiderate statements with more passion than logic, although you are proud of your rational mind. People sometimes feel compelled to say that they agree with you in order to simply put an end to the discussion.
Mars in Scorpio: You are courageous and cunning, determined, and you provide for your own needs. Gifted with a formidable will and unwavering desires, you also have a strong libido and are also intensely emotional. You can not stop yourself from succumbing to powerful feelings, and it is possible that you struggle with jealousy and the urge to seek revenge. It is not easy to adapt to changing circumstances, but you have a solid and reliable source of internal energy and a great deal of personal power. It is a beneficial position.
Mars in Sagittarius: Independent and enthusiastic, you have strong convictions, a love for outdoor activities, and a deep desire for adventure. But you may be negligent and provocative, and your crusades, begun with so much eagerness, do not always come to an end. You are also fair, direct, idealistic, and you can quickly gather your energy, especially if you have gone on an adventure.
Mars in Capricorn: Your desires, sexual or otherwise, are powerful, and your ambitions are targeted. When you feel recognized, your energy is reliable and you are persistent; But when you feel upset, your vitality drops. Effective, systematic and controlled, you respect tradition and authority, and you often reach the top of the hierarchy. You understand the hierarchies and you are, in different ways, a natural leader. But when you do not get the obedience you require, you can be incredibly cold. You usually try to hide your anger, but when it escapes, it’s unpleasant.
Mars in Aquarius: Whenever possible, you prefer the least traveled path. You are enterprising, impatient, unpredictable, and you are not afraid to take risuqes. Conventions bore you. Modern ideas captivate you and you appreciate the idea of progress. Change makes you excited. You are independent, idealist and friendly. But emotionally, you can be rather cold, you even rebellion sometimes just to make you understand something.
Mars in Pisces: You fall deeply in love. You are generous, changeable, agitated and highly intuitive. But when emotional uproar exceeds your tolerance threshold, you tend to close. When this happens, your will evaporates, you have motivation problems, you can discourage your friends by your passivity, and your physical energy disappears. One of the main challenges in your life is to regulate your energy, which can often be the slave to your feelings.
A reminder that you should take a short break.
Your mental, emotional, and physical health are important, take at least five minutes out of your day and try to do something beneficial - especially if you haven’t today.
Stand outside of the window and absorb some light.
Brush your teeth if you haven’t and can get yourself to.
Make sure you eat at least a bit of something small.
Drink some water.
Stand up and walk a bit.
Do what you need to do to take your brain off the monotony and/or stress of every day life. Laid in bed all day? Try to take a break from laying down and get up. Worked on an essay all day? Cook something nice for yourself. Dissociated and / or slept all day? That’s fine, look out your window.
Days may be tough, but small breaks - even from doing nothing - to take care of yourself are important. Small steps can make hard days, hard weeks, hard lives just a bit easier.
A Reminder Against the Tumblr Atmosphere
You aren’t invalid for having a small system.
You aren’t invalid for not being able to communicate with your alters (this is normal in DID).
You aren’t invalid for being able to co-front decently well with your alters (this is part of recovery and OSDD).
You aren’t invalid for not having your alters show up all the time and introduce themselves.
You aren’t invalid for your alters not having EXTREME differences.
You aren’t invalid if you don’t have an inner world.
You aren’t invalid for wanting to consider yourselves all parts of one.
You aren’t invalid for wanting to consider yourselves all separate.
You aren’t invalid for not switching every day.
You aren’t invalid for having an alter that hurts you.
You aren’t invalid for not having an alter that hurts you.
You aren’t invalid for being comfortable with your disorder
You aren’t invalid for wishing you didn’t have your disorder.
You aren’t invalid for wanting to integrate
You aren’t invalid for not wanting to integrate.
A lot of these things are common to see in DID and OSDD. A lot of these things I have either seen been said, implied, or just not represented within the DID community here on tumblr so I felt that it was important to mention them.
Not all systems have everything other systems have. It is okay to be different from the common type of system shown online - there is a wide variety in DID and OSDD systems and a lot of different opinions.
Describing Dissociation for Those Without It
So I have been dissociating for most of my life apparently and I have been diagnosed with high dissociative tendencies for like three years now and diagnosed with DID for about a year. Over that whole time, I have been spending a lot of time thinking about how to explain heavy dissociation / long term dissociation to someone who has never experienced it as many friends want to be supportive, but struggle to even remotely grasp what it is like.
Currently, heres my best description / analogy for those that never experienced severe dissociation.
Imagine a virtual reality world that extended to the level of complete immersion of all senses and complete disconnect from the real world - that powerful virtual reality shown in shows like Ready Player One and Sword Art Online. Now say that 99.98% of all consoles and games worked perfectly, but 0.02% were off. For those 0.02% the sound was slightly delayed from the timing with visuals, say the ability to immerse your sensations were faulty and you got a faint sense of the real world while mostly put into the virtual world. Your immersion into that virtual world is greatly hampered due to your faulty console and while everyone else is able to run around the virtual world like it is reality, something is clearly disconnected, faulty, and broken and it makes it so, no matter how intense the situation is, no matter how fun it is, you can never get fully absorbed into the story, the events, or the world you are living in, because there is just a small error that keeps breaking the immersion.
Now, when it goes long term, it becomes a lot more problematic. Say instead, everyone in the game were to be permanently trapped into the virtual world once they logged in. This world were to become permanent and the only way out of this virtual world is death. Most people would eventually learn to adapt and immerse themselves in this virtual world and live out their lives there rather easily. All the sensations are the same, all the social needs are the same, there is even the same life-death threat. However, once again, you have the faulty console. For some reason, there is this constant sensation that keeps you from being fully immersed into the world. Your broken console keeps you from being immersed in the virtual world and adapting like everyone else has. Years and years may pass, and most people have forgotten about their old lives in the real world and embraced the live in the virtual world. The idea that this world they are trapped in is just a virtual fake program is shoved to the back of the mind as to reduce stress and to be able to live happily despite their confinement. They are fully immersed in the world and can live normally as if this was the world they were meant to be in - as if this was the real world
But you, you can’t do that. You don’t have the immersion that they do. You don’t connect with this world anywhere close to as well as they do. You constantly are forced to be aware that this world is not the world you are meant to be in. You can’t shove it to the back of your mind as every time you start to forget it, the lag in audio, the dim sensations, the general feeling of your real body keeps reminding you that >this is not real.< You never feel like part of the world. You never connect with the world. Everyone else talks and acts like this is reality - like this is what it is supposed to be - but every part of you has this constant sense of disconnect.
Now if you were to take that, but state that the “virtual world” is the real world, and the “broken console” is a brain wounded by trauma or a severe mental health issue, you get a similar feeling and sensation to what dissociation and chronic dissociation feels like.
