Craft Materials
Ever since I started doing watercolor and calligraphy, my materials are starting to get a lot. I've also been fascinated to a lot of materials that can be used as props for my photography habit. You know how much I love taking pictures of my works and post them on instagram hahaha! You will notice that most of my materials are made of wood, I feel it suits well in this kind of craft.
You will also see how I organize my stuff for watrcolor and calligraphy :)
* Clip Board, Wooden Pallete are from National Bookstore
* Pencil Case is from the newly opened artsy shop in Glorietta , "ArtBox". I find this perfect storage for my calligraphy holders.
* Brown Papers from Pepemelroti.
* All these I bought from Daiso! How I love Daiso! Lots of good stuff to buy plus very cheap. All of the items above are all 88 pesos each.
...and tadaaa! Here's an overview picture of how I organize my art materials.
I used my Frappucino bottle from Starbucks as my holder for watercolour brushes.
* Drawing book is from Artbox too.
And that's it. Hope I gave you an idea on how to organize your art materials.
'til my next post!
Calligraphy tools
Hi guys! Remember on my previous blog post that I wanted to start practicing calligraphy but I don't have tools for it yet? Well, come Christmas last year, I'm so lucky to receive gifts from my closest friends that know how I really wanted to learn this thing. This is really unexpected! Thank you once again Maikee and Mons! <3
My Christmas Monita in the office who is also a college friend of mine, was the person who picked me and I really don't have an idea she was the one! haha! My top wish for our Christmas gift giving that time was the Calligraphy set that I saw in Craft Carrot site. I am so happy that she really granted my wish!
You can buy the calligraphy set for only Php450.00. This Includes: two nib holders, five different styles of metal nibs, and a soft eraser. Nib types are: one (1) round G nib, one (1) hard G nib, and three (3) soft G nibs

That same day also, a batch mate and former officemate of mine gave me these! I really didn't expect she would give me these as I knew that these were a bit pricy! It was a good thing also that she bought different nibs to what Mons gave me :p
You can buy these at Deovir. Check out their store branches here: http://www.deovirarts.com/pages/Stores.html
I have some works already using these. I will post them pretty soon! ;)
'til my next post! <3
Few hours to go.. Merry Christmas everyone!! Happy Birthday Jesus! 🎄🎅😘
New materials :)
Hello there! Just want to share with you guys the new materials I got from my favorite art store, the Craft Carrot :)
Sakura Koi-Water brush
Pentel- Brush Pen
Hooray! I can definitely start practicing calligraphy with this! ;)
Ranger- White Inked Pen
Zig- Painty marker in white ink
Dr. Ph. Martins- in Black color
According to the seller, a lot of calligraphy artists prefer to use this as their calligraphy ink because the consistency is just good and at the same time you can use it in your watercolor artworks. Can't wait to receive my calligraphy set from my Monito/ Monita! I just wish he or she really bought it :3
Anyway, that's it for now. I will posts new works of mine pretty soon ;)
You may find all these materials here: http://www.craftcarrot.com
Go check them out! :)
Back to Basics
First things first, for beginners like me, according to Ana Victoria Calderon one of those artists that I've been following in Instagram and Youtube, Transparency and Opacity exercise is a great way to practice upon managing your paints and how much water is enough for you to use.
Right after doing this exercise, I am able to use ligther shades without even using white paint and I was able to control the water I need. This is indeed a good exercise!
If you are planning to start doing this craft and thinking of what to do first, I swear, this is a good start! :)

Enjoy!
First.
This is the first ever artwork I've made haha! I know this wasn't good yet but still I'm proud! hahaha! I only used a cheap watercolor for this one since the Prang watercolor that my friend suggested is out of stock in National Bookstore. </3 But no worries, since in my next artworks that I will be posting here I used Prang watercolour already. ;)
Watercolour painting 101
Lately, I’ve been fascinated with this watercolor illustrations and calligraphy. I’ve seen a lot of works in many blogs and instagram that It made me so interested to try them out. I am not yet starting doing calligraphy just yet, because I don’t have enough tools for it. For now, I am trying to practice watercolour first since I have this friend of mine who also happened to be my officemate that started watercolor illustrations not so long ago. She urge me to learn this craft first and we can have weekly projects which could help me challenge in learning this thing. Btw, you can visit her blog and see some of her works here: Blooms and Blotches . I will show you our weekly watercolour challenge in a separate blog post :)
Now that I am just starting my exploration in this artsy world, I pray that I won’t be tired of learning this thing and won’t get attack by laziness haha! and since in less than 2 months we will welcome the year 2015, part of my new year’s resolution is to keep on posting and updating this blog! hihi.
