Me creeping Ada and Leon’s thread rn

A grin tugged at her lips, reading over Jill’s response. Of course it was rhetorical. She chuckled softly and took another sip of her coffee. No doubt, Jill was already jumping on the chance to get down here. [TXT → Jillian]
You know it is. I’ll buy you dinner and we can plan out a “fun” adventures.
Press send. It was going to be interesting, teaming up with an old friend after years apart. Ada rested her chin in her hand, gaze fixated out on the scenery outside. Such a quiet little town, masking a terrible virus and an even worse track record of missing people. Though the sun was shining, and people were smiling and laughing, it felt dark and tormented…
Jill read the text though didn't reply, busy with travel prep. She knew going in anything that could announce herself as having anything to do with the incident would be something of suicide. She dressed casually, even opting to book a commercial flight rather than catch a ride by company chopper. The less suspicious she seemed, the better. Stepping off the plane she could already feel the humidity creeping up on her, the slightest of voices in the back of her mind reminding her of the days she had no control over her own self and she had to immediately stop her mind from working. Now was not the time for all of that. Pulling out her phone she finally responded to her friend, who she was actually rather eager to see. [TXT → Ada]
Just landed. About to scope out the town for myself if you'd like to join me.
Jill Valentine - By Marco D’ Alfonso.
leonscottk:
He quirked a brow at the slight wince he saw from her then just shook his head a little. Yep. Stubborn. ‘‘Sounds like a plan. Lemme know what the doctor says then, yeah?’’
Leon nodded in understanding. ‘‘Yeah that could be. Hopefully he will take it easy on you with your wrist a little screwed.’‘
A quiet hum left her as she nodded her head "Will do. He'll probably want to cast it." she scrunched her face up in distaste. She would do anything to not have to deal with a hardcast for the next few weeks. "Luckily for everyone involved I'm ambidextrous." she always knew that skill would come in handy sooner or later in life.
leonscottk:
He rolled his eyes but chuckled. Stubborn as always, Valentine.
‘‘Yeah it does look a little worse than it should be.’‘ He sat down and watched her.
Leon gave her a small smile at her thanks. ‘‘Not a problem.’‘ His smile grew at the mention of her dog. Animals usually got a brighter reaction out of him. ‘‘Well at least he is keeping you on your toes. You should really get that looked at though.’‘ Hopefully her wrist wasn’t too badly injured.
She merely shrugged her shoulders, the slightest wince leaving her as she tried to move her wrist "It seems to not have shifted out of place so I'll splint it for now and go visit the infirmary later." A slight grin tugged at her lips, knowing Leon would try to fight her on her decision "He is very much keeping me on my toes. He's been awful defiant lately. Probably because I haven't been home as much as I used to be."
@leonscottk
‘‘Stop prodding at it.’‘
Leon approached her with an instant cold pack in his hand. He stopped in front of her and squeezed at the pack twice before gently applying it to her swollen wrist. Finally a small smile as he lets his eyes meet hers.
‘‘I am pretty relaxed,Jilly. So….what did you do to it?’’
She doesn't listen, continuing to run her fingers along the bruised skin "I'm just trying to figure out if it's broken. I'm pretty sure it is." Jill laughs quietly, shaking her head at herself as she thinks about it. She rests her hand against the pack, giving a quiet thanks as she flashes a grin. "Ah, nothing exciting unfortunately. Just got tangled up with that giant dog of mine. Four years old and he still gets excited like he's still a puppy."
"Relax."
Jill can’t help the snort that leaves her as her gaze moves from her swollen left wrist, fingers prodding along the bones, to Leon, the man as stoic faced as ever. She couldn’t help but somehow be amused by the situation.
“Are you telling that to me or to yourself?”

iagentwong:
Amazing. Ada grinned at the response. The reply alone sounded nearly desperate to get away from the endless sea of paper. She was more than happy to oblige. She quickly typed out a response. [TXT → Jill]
Louisiana. You’ve heard about what’s gone down here, right?
No doubt she had heard. What with Chris being involved. Ada’s eyes shifted, gazing out the window of the diner. It was warm out today…. So she elected to stay inside and drink an iced coffee. She had done a relatively good job of not making the locals too suspicious of her. And that was always a plus. It was what she aimed for.
Jill couldn't help the way her brow quirked up, a quiet snort leaving her. Of course she had heard of what had happened in Louisiana. There wasn't much that got by without her knowledge on it around here. [TXT → Ada]
I hope that's rhetorical.
Before she'd received a response, she was already up and moving. Paperwork would always wait for another day. She knew every minuscule detail about the Louisiana case. Jill had heard all of the debriefings, seen all the files. What could it hurt to pay a short visit and see for herself. She knew what to prepare herself for, after all. And knowing is half the battle.

leonscottk:
Leon shook his head in slight disbelief that Jill would even dare use that as her reasoning for keeping him in the dark. Yes he knew all about the importance of secrecy but surely she could see that this situation was different? Ada just left! Telling him nothing but sparing Jill the torment of not knowing what the hell went wrong. If there’s a damn reason for that he wanted to know.
He sighed and checked his watch as he walked back to his belongings where he was waiting at the boarding gate, a bottle of water in his hand and a pill in the other. He sat down and swallowed the pill before replying.
[Text: Jilly]
Yes I know. Clearly there is a reason why she failed to inform me of anything but felt the need to inform you. She’s hiding something from me. But no matter. I am going to meet up with her in a few hours. Then we will see. I’ll be sure to send her your regards. Hugs and Kisses.
Her eyes flickered back and forth between her computer screen and her phone. Why was she suddenly feeling so anxious to recieve a reply? Perhaps it was because she knew he had been slowly caving in on himself since Ada vanished into thin air. Jill knew Leon wasn't that irrational. But still, she'd witnessed stranger things. When her phone finally chimed she couldn't help the small sigh of relief that left her, though it was quickly replaced by the frown that seemed to tug all of her features down.
[TXT → Mr. Kennedy]
She's informed me of every outing she's ever taken since we've started our careers. You're reading too much into this you know. Like I said, I don't know specifics but I highly doubt it had anything to do with you. I doubt she wanted to leave. But nonetheless. I'm sure our paths will cross very soon, Leon. Until then, stay safe.
leonscottk:
He rubbed his right eye softly, a dull ache behind it already. He glanced at the phone again and he let out a sigh as he taps the screen to open the message.
Leon knew Jill had a point but what could possibly have been the reason for Ada to want to keep him in the dark. Did she not know what that would do to him?
[Text: Jilly]
Yeah I know. I will deal with you two later. The reasons for all this secrecy better be good.
Of course he knew the reasons for the secrecy were good. Ada never did anything without a good reason and Jill wouldn’t keep her silence on something if it wasn’t really important. Still….he didn’t have to like it or accept it.
I need a damn drink.
Before getting up, he reached for his phone again to type another message.
[Text:Jilly]
Drinks are on you the next time i see you. You are in my debt now,Valentine.
Leaning back in her office chair, a quiet groan of a noise left her. Most of the time, keeping her mouth shut was no problem, but other times, when it involved people she knew and cared about, it could be rather difficult but ever the persistent one she stuck to her guns and to the promise that she had made Ada the last time she'd seen her. Jill knew she'd let one friend down but she'd be damned if she let them both down.
[TXT → Mr.Kennedy]
Our entire lifes work revolves around secrecy. All reasons are good reasons given the situation is right. You should know that better than anyone. But, I digress. Consider our next "meeting" a treat from me to you, Mr. Kennedy.
leonscottk:
Leon stared at the message and just shook his head. He had been tormented by his wife’s departure ever since it became clear that it hadn’t just been her going on a mission as she normally did since she usually somehow kept contact.
Sworn to secrecy…
‘‘Of course…’‘ He mumbled to himself. Jill always kept her word. This time it placed him at a serious disadvantage.
[Text:Jilly]
I know Jill. I can’t fault you on that. Just knowing that she was at least alive would have been enough.
This is why I am drinking again.
She sighed softly, phone sitting on her desk, screen bright as the message flashed across. Jill knew it was hard on him. Even if they hadn't seen much of each other since Ada's departure, she knew how hard it was.
[TXT → Mr. Kennedy]
You know I would have told you if I could've. But you know how she is with these things.
"You have 3 minutes… I’m sorry.”
leonscottk:
He felt angry to know that he didn’t get that reassurance. She left him completely in the dark.
[Text: Jilly]
Any specific reason for not at least giving me that reassurance?
She knew he would probably be angry with her for a while but she didn't regret keeping her pact. If nothing else, she was a woman of her word. [TXT → Mr. Kennedy]
I was sworn to secrecy. You know I don't take that lightly, Leon
leonscottk:
Of course she did.
[Text: Jilly]
Did you know where she was?
She felt bad for not telling him, kind of.
[TXT → Mr. Kennedy]
I never knew specifics. Just enough to know she was alive
leonscottk:
[Text: Jilly]
I am sure you already know that she is back yeah?
He was not going to beat around the bush or wait to see her face to face.
She couldn't help the small quirk of an eyebrow, almost amused as she responded immediately [TXT → Mr. Kennedy]
Of course. She knows better than to keep me in the dark for too long
