Jonah Hex fought for the south he's from the south but not the deep south in this issue of Jonah Hex Volume 2 Jonah goes to the Louisianan Bayou.

A African American man rides into town drooped over with a knife in his back, upon reaching a saloon he falls over and is met by Jonah Hex you see The man was traveling through the swamps with his white wife his friend and his child they were ambushed by swamp folk and he wants revenge Jonah replies that "revenge comes with a cost" and demands payment the man gives him claims to some land and Jonah takes it after gambling at the saloon Jonah decides that its time that he gets to work he persuades the Sheriff to put bounties on the swamp folk and thus Jonah is traveling to the bayou...

this is one of the better volume two comics with great art from Phil Noto and it has one of the best endings

This is an interesting issue. Jonah Hex decides to marry Mei Lang\settle down and stop being a bounty hunter. Jonah is hesitant at first because violence has been with him all his life but he tries. While shopping for a wedding dress some old ladies are disgusted with a Chinese woman marry a disfigured confederate bounty hunter...

This is a good issue because it showcases the racism of the 1800s also it shows how violence always follows Hex while he's trying to live a normal peaceful life

this issue begins with Jonah going hunting, finding food is important because his wife is pregnant so he travels around the surrounding forest looking for something. Being the tracker that he is he soon finds a deer kills it and starts skinning it but that is cut short by some unwanted visitors...

This issue is important because A) its the 50th issue and B) it introduces the character Emmylou also this is the issue where Jonah fights a Grizzly with just his Bowie knife so yeah real good issue here.

This issue follows Jonah as he is on the run for a crime he didn't commit but since he cant collect bounties since he has one on his head he joins a travelling circus for the time being. Jonah works for a ringmaster that abuses the animals of the circus especially the lions and secretly uses his circus to commit crimes, a fellow circus performer a girl finds out about the circus managers criminal actions and she tries to stop him and he kills her. After her death, the circus manager blames Hex and the fellow circus performers tie Hex up and chuck knives at him stabbing him several times...

this issue is very good but the ending is fantastic after a fellow circus performer proves that Jonah didn't get the girl he finds the circus master and locks him in the cage that holds the lions as they devour the ringmaster Jonah lights up a cigarette and walks away and that's just awesome.

This issue of Jonah Hex is important because it shows us Jonah's origin

Its 1853 Jonah is helping his drunk father Woodson load up homemade whisky however the crates are to heavy and Jonah accidentally drops it, enrage Woodson whips Jonah later telling him to finish loading up. fast-forward now the two meet up with The Apace Tribe after Woodson sells them the whiskey he sells them something else... Jonah Hex, Jonah pleads to his father not to leave him but Woodson rides on the Apache approaches their slave but Jonah punches their lights out but Jonah is overcome by them and is whipped fast forward two years after Hex has been a slave to the Apache working hard and not getting anything but just then he hears the Chief yelling as a Puma is attacking him.....

Really good issue here because it shows Jonah's Horrifying origin

this isn't just a Jonah hex comic but Jonah hex comic but it does include Hex

Its Christmas in the 1800s Jonah Hex is riding along when he hears the cries of a little girl following them he comes across a little girl begging her father not to kill a fawn, her father informs her that they are starving and they need to kill the fawn to survive Jonah stops him and tells the father that he will find them something else to eat as long as the father spares the fawn The father agrees and Jonah goes hunting. The reason Jonah does this is shown in a flashback to Jonah's childhood when he was out walking with his alcoholic monster of a father Jonah comes across a raccoon whose paw is caught in a trap and asks his dad(Woodson Hex) if he could heal and keep him his father drunkenly says yes and they go home. in the shed Jonah makes a nice warm bed for his pet raccoon and heals his paw fast-forward a couple of days when Jonah is eating with his family he quickly eats and asks if he could go check on his raccoon to which his mother gives him a horrifying look and Woodson reply's with it was a good meal you see Woodson went and killed Jonah's raccoon and fed it to him. Jonah felt sick and angry he called his father a skunk and rose his fist towards his father so Woodson beat him up and then whipped him a couple times

This is a good comic because it explores Jonah's terrible childhood which I will be explaining in a future blog post

This issue of Weird Western Tales starts off with Jonah sleeping in a camp somewhere in Arizona with his horse and pet Timber wolf Ironjaws suddenly a rattler starts slithering towards Jonah, being the instinctual animal that he is Ironjaws leaps into action attacking the rattler but sadly is bit in the process after getting Ironjaws some care Jonah is ambushed by some outlaws and tied to the ground in the desert to rot to death...

without giving to much away this is one of the great Jonah Hex classics featuring Ironjaws this really shows how Jonah reacts to a situation showing no emotion but really he does care deep down

This issue of Jonah Hex Volume 2 starts with Jonah being hung by some carnival performers because Jonah killed their boss ( the boss was abusing children and forcing them to fight dogs so Jonah killed him) after several minutes of hanging the circus performers leave Hex to die but Hex still lives! just as they leave a rider comes cloaked in the shadows its El Diablo! another classic DC western hero he saves Jonah and rides on. In the morning Jonah rides into town and meets a familiar face...

Now the volume 2 of Jonah Hex had a lot of bad stories and art but this one is an instant classic firstly it has a great introductive prologue that all Hex stories have and secondly it showcases how tough and brave Jonah is he basically tells El Diablo off even though El diablo has superpowers, Hex doesn't take bull from anyone.

I rate this comic 9/10

In this issue a man calling himself the Sin Killer sees that its up to him to cleanse the sinful west he does this by killing bounty hunters and his next target is a man called Jonah Hex...

This issue introduced the Sin Killer whom is a great villain it also shows how crafty and adaptive Hex is when he is lost in the frozen wilderness which is what makes Hex so awesome

This issue of Jonah Hex starts off where Jonah Hex #17 left off with Jonah lost somewhere in Brazil paddling his canoe when he hears the screams of a young native boy being tortured by four men. Jonah sneaks up on them and kills all four of them then he unties the boy just then Jonah is shot with a poison dart by another native, A drowsy Jonah climbs into his canoe and falls unconscious then his canoe starts down the river towards a waterfall...

This is one of my all time favourite comics, this comic has an amazing story with twists and turns that you don't see coming all of the Jonah hex comics all have this in common also the art if great. This comic is great

As I said earlier on, It was the man who was sometimes uncultured , The man of coarse garb and rude weaponry that forged this county. Times will change as they do. Men will construct laws and proper courts to judge his fellow citizens to prove he’s civilized. And sometime in the distant future, folks will speak of the days when handsome cowboys had a noble hand in preserving justice But not these days. No sir….. These days belong to Jonah Hex

Jonah hex is a fictional cowboy from DC comics introduced in 1972 he was a hero to some a villain to others but there one thing for sure you don't want to get on his bad side
