In fanfiction there is a difference between being a good writer and a popular writer.
Just because you can write a well-structured story with dynamic and consistent writing and characters doesn’t mean you will be popular. And sometimes stories that have disorganized plots, mediocre writing, and/or OOC characters will be held up as the greatest things to ever exist.
Just because your writing isn’t popular doesn’t mean you are a bad writer. Don’t ever compromise who you are, who your characters are, your plot, your writing style, anything for the sake of readership.
There are popular writers everywhere. But there are only so many good writers.

These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. It’s the reblogs. Because that’s how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isn’t twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website that’s run by the reblog system.
Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? It’s because they put in hours of work and don’t get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but like...some validation won’t hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.

Despite Everything is being re-written. As of now, all updated chapters have quiet a bit more word count then the originals. For example, chapter 4 actually has 1k word count more than the original.
The story is the same, the ending will be the same. But details will be added, and certain parts will be improved for the reader’s benefit.
This is all being updated on my Ao3 account. Once everything is complete I will update here on Tumblr as well. Hope you guys can check it out 😊

So you definitely didn’t ask for this much, but I couldn’t just casually throw these out there. I’m not kidding when I say these fics did something to me, they made a permanent stake into my brain. I cannot chose a top five, these are all on the same level in my opinion. In no particular order, Dynasty by @jimlingss The relationship between the reader and Jungkook blossoms so beautifully and the plot is original and it’s got good action and good smut, and that’s a good combo to me lmao. Deep six by @bratkook
I’m such a sucker for forbidden love tropes, and this one hits hard, and will rip your heart up and also delivers some steamy scenes, the chemistry is off the charts with this pair. Cream and Sugar by @gukslut I hadn’t ever read an escort au before where it was the guy instead of the girl, and it was so good. Again with the “we can’t do this” feelings that create a ballon of sexual tension that explodes at the end. Rattled by @gukslut
This fic has such good character progression, and while the romance is good, honestly what I loved most was how beautifully Jungkook and his daughter’s relationship is described. The Devils Change Up by @jungblue Again, so much sexual tension, a fun back and forth with the characters, and unique and flaming hot smut scenes. Just the Girl (ao3) I’m also a sucker for that angsty slowburn that hurts so good. This fic is set over a long time, which I love, and so you basically get the young versions of them, and the grown. Falling Into You by @kookingtae I ADORE these characters so much. They are so endearing, and their love is so delicate and it’s great watching the reader not give up on him because she likes him so much even though they’re complete opposites. Morai by @taeken-my-heart This fic fucked me up (in a good way) it’s the most angsty and slowest burned fic I’ve ever read. It hurts so good. This is less of a particular fic, and more of an author shoutout to @foxymoxynoona aka foxymoxy on ao3. want to give a proper in depth review of her fics, but this will do for now. Everything she writes is gold, but if I had a gun to my head and was forced to choose one, I would probably die because I can’t choose between Lowlander, Sugarfairy, and Sea of Indigo.

POINT #2: About the narrative of Despite Everything, this story has EVERYTHING is a roller-coaster of emotions, it has the perfect amount of romance, drama and smut. I don't know what happened to me but I was really into this like deeply. This story takes you and makes you think about, then really dream about it till you can almost feel it when you are reading. It has a lot of plot twists which makes it difficult to figure it out and makes it also very interesting and original. While reading this, I felt the excitement of y/n falling for jungkook I really felt how kind and sweet you portrait Jimin, which I really liked, the romantic scenes and the dialogs were my favorite things of this. Every final of a chapter really catches you. The trama was hella original and unique hands down. So once again congratulations, this fiction is ONE OF A KIND 👏👏👏

Heey I have a question about this Despite Everything final. There is the final frase where y/n says she Stil loves him, with him it was referring to Jimin or Jungkook? 🤔🤔
The paragraph prior is describing her internal struggle on accepting her feelings for Jungkook despite her guilt because of Jimin and all that has happened. So the final phrase is referring to Jungkook 🙃
I was reading unbalanced and that story took a turn !!! I was not expecting this plot!! Its good though!! Im intrigued please continue writing it when you can !!!

Prologue
Something about coffee shops always eased your mind. Maybe it was the smell of freshly ground beans, or perhaps the calming atmosphere the place emitted. Regardless, whenever you had a stressful day you always found yourself heading towards a coffee shop.
There you were stirring your hot caramel latte while you absentmindedly went through the dozens of files on your laptop. The same files that made you cringe and almost vomit from how obscenely horrible the crimes were when you first saw them. The incredibly detailed descriptions and pictures of all the murders and such committed made your skin crawl, yet you couldn’t look away. It just blew your mind how many times this man has been in and out of both jail and the psych ward. At one point he even served some prison time, but it only lasted 2 months before he was let go. You would think he’d get a life sentence from all the terrible things he has done, but it’s clear that he has powerful connections.

Unbalanced is really interesting. Although I do have to say it would be more compelling with some changes to the oc. I think it's a little bit contradictory now, I wouldn't expect her to be out there making conversations with the maids or yoongis men. she's got kidnapped and she's behaving like she's not scared of them, giggling and talking as if they are her coworkers. the jump was too fast. the lust going on seems like it came from nowhere since there wasnt much on their previous relationship
Cont. It would be interesting to actually see her have a mental breakdown, refuse to talk with anyone, refuse to eat. It seems she just more or less accepted her fate. I love the yandere and Stockholm syndrome vibes, but it definitely be more gripping if taken slowly. You could literally put out 50 chapters and we would read everything
I assure you everything has its reasons. The only men she has had positive interactions with as of the chapters posted are Jimin and Seokjin, and they both have their reasons for speaking to her as more than a captive. Y/n is an educated woman and is very aware of her situation and takes in every bit of information that she can from their conversations. The only way to do that is to talk. She had her mental breakdown in chp 6, but keep in mind her specialty is the human mind and she reminds herself of this fact several times. She is extremely self aware and takes advantage of her experience as a professional. This is the explanation for her quick recovery. It wasn’t immidiate, it took a few days. There are a few references I could point out for this but it would make this response way to long. And I’d also like to point out her weight loss, the reader could conclude that she was not eating well for this to happen.
And to wrap this response up, she most cartainly has not accepted her fate. Not in the least as you could tell from chp 7 and most certainly 8. She’s doing her best to fight the attraction to Yoongi and the illness she knows she’s developing while still strategizing a way to get out of there. Y/n is no damsel in distress, her past has made her very strong and could also contribute as to why her mental recovery from Yoongi’s abuse went by faster than would be normal.

Your dress flowed behind you in a river of teal, chasing as your bare feet kissed the cold ground. Where exactly were you? The mountains surrounding your misty, green hill didn’t give much indication on that matter. Regardless, you couldn’t stop. Loving the morning dew on your skin, an on-going meeting as you kept your light pace across the downhill meadow of green. Was that a cloud at eye level to which you were approaching? It’d crossed your mind to wonder about the elevation for which you were in, but everything within sight was so mystical it mattered little.
